http://www.phirejz.com/zepmerk/other%20pics/renguard.jpg

Is this just a glitch or something, also, should I remove Renguard this way, or do it manually. I remember a post on this a while back excepte I cant find it, can someone give it to me? Also when I removed rengurd this way, my renengade wouldnt work Confused Had to re-install.

btw, beside the thing to ren, it only says aprox 900 megs
Just looking for some help.

The reason Renegade and RenGuard show up as two different things in your Add/Remove Programs box is because they are two different programs. RenGuard doesn't integrate with the Renegade process, it runs behind it. This is why they both are there.

When you want to uninstall RenGuard (and/or Renegade) it is probably best if you do it via either the Add/Remove Programs box or any provided uninstall links. These ways ensure any files won't be missed if you did it manually. I'm not sure what is going on with the problem you had after uninstalling RenGuard. I just did the same thing to see if I could duplicate your problem and Renegade loaded up for me as it did before I installed RenGuard (This of course was uninstalled by using the Add/Remove Programs box). If you wanted to get rid of Renegade when you have RenGuard installed, you would want to uninstall RenGuard first, then Renegade.

Renegade says something like 963MB (or more) next to it indicating the size of the program's folder it's associated with. This is the amount of files Renegade and you put into your Renegade folder when you initially installed Renegade and after that. RenGuard will have the same size indicated next to it as the Renegade option will, because it's located in the same folder as Renegade.

Ya, RenGuard uninstalls seperately from Renegade, the only reason it shows the same size is cuz they're in the same directory, 2 completely different programs though. :sigh:

You must uninstall RenGuard FIRST and THEN uninstall Renegade btw.

The best way is to delete RenGuard is to go into your Renegade Folder then remove "game.exe" (Thats RenGuard) then rename "game2.exe" to "game.exe". That should work, i didn't have to reinstall

That's not really the BEST way... it'll work, but it will leave several registry entries as well as the uninstall information on your machine. Also, if you do it that way, then you use the uninstall from add/remove programs, it will remove the original game.exe and you'll need to reinstall renegade.

If you need to uninstall RenGuard, I'd recommend just doing it from add/remove programs. Smile

Yea...or just re-download the installer & run it, then uninstall from there. I've done both, either way is pretty simple. Very Happy
