We tracked down the problems to the "htmlayout" widget that we had embedded for displaying web pages. So it's out... gone, burned up. I personally didn't like it anyway because it strongly hindered me from what I could do in the MOTD.
We have changed it to use a DLL that basically uses Internet Explorer to display the pages. That gives me infinitely more flexibility in displaying the MOTD and whatever content we add there in the future.
Other fixes for version 1.02:
- RenGuard automatically re-maximizes when you quit Renegade
- Right-clicking the Renegade icon in the tray gives you option to close RenGuard
- Overhauled auto-update tool. Includes a progress bar.
- Fixes even more known exploits

On the drawing board for version 1.03 so far:
- Audio notification when you join a server that's protected by RenGuard (this will get the djlaptop touch -- most of you know what that means)
Version 1.02 is being tested right now and so far, not a single tester has encountered a crash. If you'd like to test out the new version to make sure it won't crash anymore on your system, please join our IRC chat here and we'll give you a non-working test exe to try out.

How about an item in options menu for BR .Net ident password as well as an auto close on renegade quit option?

There's already an password option, you can use it for br.net as well, if Dante adds support.
