i set compatibility too, and all that happens is renguard shows up in task manager...no motd, no renegade, no anything but renguard in the task manager...didnt you guys think to test for something as big as this before you released 1.01?

It only seems to be having problems on NT Based systems (NT4, 2k, XP) if you are having problems please go to your renegade directory and set Game.exe into Windows98/Windows ME Compatibillity mode and DISABLE Visual Themes and Advanced Text Services, If this doesn't help then visit the support chat here.
(Make sure you select the channel renguard_support).
EDIT:
It has come to my attention that half the people asking for help with XP problems are not running Service Pack 1. It is recommended you download SP1 before asking for support.

same prob for me too after the pick 98 mode.

hey guys i guess blackhand studios nows now tat tere are problems with renguard stop telling them ur problems and let them work its enoying to read the hole time the same stuff over and over again just be thankfull wat teire doing

I downloaded the 1.01 setup file from renguard.com manually, but RG still INSISTS on autoupdating every time I start it up. Why is this?

k they brought out a better update wich should work on every server u need to install renguard 1.00 new and let it update itself ones u uninstalled renguard u need to set back game2.exe to game.exe so u can install renguard it worked on three computers i tried it on with xp

First off I think Renguard is a great idea and I am very happy with the idea behind it, I understand that bugs are unavoidable. That does not make me feel any better, here is why... Renguard auto updated, maybe if you guys knew there were even a few problems with the update, the update should not have been auto. I�m sure you simply could have removed the update from the server until a better one was put in its place. I had the problem with my Game.exe crashing, tried everything suggested to fix it, NO LUCK! So I uninstalled Renguard and then Renegade wouldn�t work. FINE! No problem, I uninstalled Renegade and reinstalled it. Total time lost trying to fix this thing, over 1 hour. By the time I reinstalled it Westwood was down, not your fault, just the straw that broke the camels back. I love the idea behind Renguard great program, poorly tested before released. Overall satisfaction, I�ll let you know next version, you don�t want my opinion at the moment. For future reference, learn from Bill Gates mistakes. PLEASE!!! Forgive me for venting, I have earned it this time, believe me.
