I asked so it would be helpful next time i decide to buy a computer, i guess i'll start looking at Macs now Smile

Apple just put out a new eMac deal for $999, I'd suggest checking it out as it's a good deal.

I've used Windows (3.11-XP), Linux (Red Hat 9 Pro), FreeBSD, and a shitty old IMac. I can say that 2003-XP have been stable, along with FreeBSD. It just depends on what you want to do. Windows = Gaming *nix = hosting OS X = editing

Ironically they used Apple Quicktime to encode the file.

Its getting a bit old now - seeming parts of the MacOS X core is basically Unix (FreeBSD).

Suddenly this becomes a thread to post 'anti-mac' videos done by people with inability to use any OS apart from windows because it isn't windows?

I don't mind mac's myself - heck I have a G4 Powerbook AND a windows box running windows 2003 server.

I didn't really like anything below MacOS 10 but I think they have really done some good things having Unix integrated in it. Still things change - maybe Longhorn will be more stable but its a long time off yet.

Windows XP, installed 18+ months (lost track...)
Max Uptime (37 days) power goes out a lot at work... thank god for my ups shutting down cpu after 20 minutes...

Crashes: only when my cpu burnt out, replaced it & the mobo without reinstalling (yes, that is possible...)

Dependability: awesome, runs fast, looks good, and i can get just about any kind of software to do just about anything for it, if not, any n00b can program it.
