Ok I use Ren Ip. I did the Safe Installer for RenGuard, extracted the files to \Renegade, and changed the names of my .exe for Game to Game2 and the _Game to just Game. When I try to run Ren Ip through Game2.exe, it says that RenGuard was not properly installed and I have to re-install it. When I try through Game.exe (changed from _Game for RenGuard), I get the message "CRC Mismatch Error". Now because I used the Safe Installer, I can't properly un-install RenGuard to retry. Can anyone please help me out? Now I can't even play Renegade.

your mismatch error means you havent updated to version 1.037
One of two things can happen
1: YOu totally uninstall renegde which will wipe out skins  AND ask you if you wanna update next time you launch it
thats wat i did its the easiest
2:Manually find the skins and then find a site that will allow you to update the version(Hard to find for me)
You dont need safe install crap thats for total n00bs
go to
start>settings >control panel> add/remove programs
uninstall rengaurd that way (compared to wat ever u tried before)
STOP WITH ALL THIS: :

i didnt do that and i can play renegade
once back at the download page pick 1 of 3 to install

- Mirror 1
- Mirror 2
I picked mirror 2 BUT IT DOSENT MATTER then install it
I have to play w/o skins which sucks but at least i can play
DONT USE SKINS UNTILL WE HAVE FIGURED OUT HOW TO ALLOW THEM
if u have any skins delete them
this is how
double click on your my computer icon
go to local C drive
go to westwood folder
go to renegade folder
go to data folder
then delete all skins youll be able to tell which ones are what i hope 
finally after u have reinstalled renegade BUT DONT OPEN IT YET untill you have installed rengaurd
once you do all that a screen will apper and u click renegade
MAKE SURE IT SAYS welcome (your name u use online to play renegade)
once into renegade go to multiplay and itll ask you where your from etc etc etc
when you hit advanced game listings wait just a little bit and it should ask you to update and you click yes

lol ok thanx a lot, just wanna make sure of one thing. Once I re-install Renegade, I should also re-install RenGuard, and don't download any skins. Then through RenIp, do I do Game.exe (changed from _Game.exe for RenGuard) or Game2.exe (changed from Game.exe for Renegade)?

I used the Safe-Installer, then renamed what I was supposed to, so but it still doesn't work. Please explain in the simplest terms you know :oops:
