So i installed renguard and it works for its intended purpose except that textures and even parts of levels flicker/dissapear momentarly. I suspected it to be the no-cd i put in before i installed renguard so i tried the file that blazer posted and it didnt seem to help very much. If i uninstall renguard the problem is fixed but im obviously locked out of the renguard servers. I am running an amd Athlon 1.2, a Radeon 9k pro with ati catalyst 3.4 drivers, 785mb ram and Windows 2k pro w/ latest updates. Anyone know anything i can do to fix this. I have some screenshots i can post if anyone would like to see them.

I assure you that's not RenGuard. All we do is take your game.exe and rename it to game2.exe. THAT'S IT. No modifications of Renegade are done at all.

I'm the bawss.

That's not RG.

Let me take a guess at what card you have.....

FX 5200?

I have seen that problem with my card and many others who have that same card. It tends to get better in time. I can't explain it though.

I have a suspicion its to do with .w3d cards though. Textures become missing on Generals too sometimes which I believe uses .w3d also.

I have an FX 5200 as well... no problems, although looking at any kind of smoke such as the steam of lava on Volcano and the puff of smoke from the gun... that kills my FPS and makes sniping hell when i am in scope mode

Those looks like video memory errors. Get a fan on that video card or something.

The card i have is an ATI Radeon 9000 pro w/64mb onboard memory and i left the default heatsink on it. I havent even touched any of the core clock speeds of anything in this system (although i overclocked other comps) although a heatsink replacement might be a good bet. I updated to the latest drivers (catalyst 4.4) and didnt seem to make a difference. I dont seem to have this problem in any other game (Homeworld 2, Unreal Tourny 2004). If my card is indeed dieing then can anyone give me a recomendation on a 4x agp graphics card that wont break my wallet.
