RenGuard is a program which is run on both the server side, and the client side. It performs a variety of tests on Renegade, to make sure it isn't altered. It performs the checks on a regular basis as well, to make sure that files aren't swapped in later on (say, after one map has been played on a server)... That's the basics of it.

It can only work on the free dedicated server because it's the only servers that produce console logs. There's just no way for RenGuard to know who joins if you're running a non-dedicated server.
I'm the bawss.
