The project that I am working on requires that I build my own version of the Renegade FDS in order for it to support the dedicated server. But, I can't test the new FDS because I lost my serial number for my FDS account. I scanned my old hard drive searching through registry keys and various files hoping to find a trace of the number, but didn't find anything. Since I don't really want to release something that's untested, would anyone be willing to share with me their WOL login with respective FDS serial number so I could test the program? I would use the information for testing purposes only, and would appreciate it. Thanks.

Can you yet release any details of the project you are working on? Inquiring minds want to know Wink

That would be Sole Survivor. Because of the way it reads resources now (such as levels and a separate "always.dat") while still being able to access the old standard Renegade files, it is incompatible with the Renegade FDS. Nothing universally helpful. Wink

If you are only testing stuff you could run it in LAN mode which doesn't require a serial.

Just install the FDS in GameSpy mode then edit the properties to LAN mode.

I'm willing to give mine away. But only if I know its not going to be used to run a dedicated 4 person or something stupid.

As long as you can show me that its going to be a half decent server, I'd be happy to share.

I guess SomeRhino, you don't need one now. But if anyone else does, PM me.

Yeah, but I need to check connectivity over WOL and make sure that the server is listed, etc. It loads up properly in LAN mode, which is a good sign.
