Can I request three enhancements to this site?
1. A flame forum so that those who want to flame have "somewhere to take it". - and the rest of us can ignore the forum.
2. An option to mark all posts in one forum as Read, I know theres an option to mark all posts but I couldn't find one for all posts in one forum.
3. A personal preferences setting so that I can log out without all posts being marked as read. (This is really a boss option so that I can close the browser when he walks past )

You can easily ignore it if you have any sort of individual will.
|
My problem is not one of will, but of time.
I have better things to do in my life than read crap from two people slamming each other. I am fed up with opening posts that basically say "I hate you, your mother and every piece of work you have ever produced".
It comes down to the point that I don't care if person A hates person B.
If Crimson or Blazer could take 10 seconds to "attempt to" solve this I would be greatly appreciative.
Note: I am not leveling this at any particular person there a quite a few people (possibly including some of my old posts) that have made these kind of comments.

1) I ususally tend to move the fighting threads into the "Hot Issues" forum, but sometimes that's difficult. The ignore feature can be used for repeat offenders.
2) The link you seek is at the bottom of that forum's message listing.
3) Uh, not within my realm of knowledge of phpBB, but a newer version might do better.
I'm the bawss.

hydra1945 | You can add one more enhancement to that list: elimination of the damned "Invalid_session" message I sometimes get after I try making a post.
|
Simple fix:
Just hit "Back" then hit "Submit" again. Seem's to be a problem with the current version of phpBB, as another forum i visit has the same problem.
| It is a problem within version 2.0.4 of phpBB, if Crimson were to update to the latest version 2.0.5 it would fix it.
But... she's not going to do that anytime soon because she'd have to overwrite many of the files she's modified to make these forums look identical to ye olde westwood ones. Personally, i don't blame her.
The only time it happens to me is if my ISP dialup disconnects between when i'm writing a message and when i click the submit post. I usually just go back, refresh, then resubmit.
