I think he took a page from Kerry's book and became a big flip-flopper. He's just trying to "prove" the lies that the Democrats have said about Bush to try and substantiate them. But too bad that Fox News immediately found a tape from a background conference with Richard Clarke... the reporter asked the White House if they could lift the background restriction, the White House said yes, and now we can hear how Clarke told a completely different story.
So basically, anyone who reads more than one news source knows now that Clarke talks out of his ass and says whatever sounds good at the time (sounds like Kerry) and he's just trying to sell books and enjoy his 15 minutes of fame.
I'm the bawss.

You know the story on that background transcript, right?
Reporters get to go to background briefings, which are STRICTLY off the record. There they get to meet the people and know the story, but are not allowed to quote it or anything. This way, people feel like they can say different things off the record. Now, FOX goes, records the briefing, and then POSTS A TRANSCRIPT ON THEIR FRONT PAGE OF THE INTERNET SAYING WHAT IT IS!
It's kind of hard to talk bad about Clarke when he's been THE counterterrorism guy for 4 presidencies. Cheney said that Clarke had never really been in the loop: Well, Clarke actually was the loop.

Hmmmm .... sad to see trends are still alive ... I asked what do you think about the man.
I got to sit in on some of the hearings (not those with himI was there on Thursday) and the rest a group of us watched and discussed them. We had hoped with the previous statements that had been released that the commission might actually do some good but the consensus is taht when it degenerated with obvious bipartisan politics with regards to Clark that it would end with little or no credibilty.
As for his comments made on background he answered the question before the committee quite ably.
I am not really sure of his motives but whatever they are his actions required courage.

Um, I JUST said that Angle ASKED the White House for permission to post the contents of the interview and THEY SAID YES.

And as soon as you legalize marraige for them, you can have them all back.
As for Clark, yeah it took guts.
Personally, I think Bush cut him out of the loop, and demoted him. He decided that he put himself back in the loop by helping Kerry.
10:1 says Kerry reappoints him as counter terror guru if he gets elected.
