For me it's UT 2004.

The only Battle Field I've played was the 1942, and that was shit. This one is probably just another shitty EA sequal. :rockedover:

BF:V would be ten times better if EA would have delivered everything they origanaly offered.

1. The Viet-Con Engineers have shovels but look they don't work... This is becuase EA said we would be able to dig entrances to tunnel systems. OMFG REBORN OFFERS THIS.

2.OMFG I TURNED UP THE TEXTURE LEVEL AND OMFG MISSING TEXTURES WOOHOOO!!! (given my copy is warez but there are numerous reports of this on people that have the supported ATI card in there computers that own the game. if you didn't know like UT2004 has support of nVidia cards this has supports for ATI cards.)

3. Here is a good one right here.... The jets (yes they are jets) handle like hot air baloons forget about dogfights. This being the last war where dogfighting still happened.

4. The boats are slow as molasis in January (you canadians know how slow that is) The landing craft in BF42 where faster. Sad shit...

5. Wow I took off the airstrip and went off the battlefield... OMFG I am dead...

6. OOOO... another GFX problem FPS drop like a rock again on the supported cards... My cousin had to get a new GFX card becuase he had a ATI 7000 which is a 64mb card it is supposedly too slow, and I quote that from an EA rep from support... So his parents have to drop 100 bucks for a 49.99 piece of shit...

in the end BF:V will be awesome when they patch it and add the tunnels.

(this is the longest post I have ever made make it worth it and YEAH FOR COMCAST AND THIS SLOW CONNECTION I HAVE RIGHT NOW... I called them three times and they keep saying that it is a problem with my computer yet all the computer at my house and my nieghbors are having connection problems...)

Can't lie with the reviews. UT2k4 > BF: Vietnam.

UT2k4 for me as well.

Havent played BFV, but it looks like a gay replica of BF1942. So its UT2k4. Is the full version out yet?

I played both and opted with BF:V! I mean dont get me wrong, but Unreal is to fast paced for me. Its fun for a month or so, but all the jumping and crap gets to me real quick!

Anyways, imagine how sick the Desert Combat for BF:V will be?! Smile

It only happens in Linux Dedicated Servers. The engie shovel works fine in Windows version.

I personally don't like UT gameplay...It's too fast paced, like someone said and it was designed for frenetic fragfests, just like its predecessors and other Quake-like games. BF (both) brings the Renegade feeling for me, so I go with it. Look, I'm not comparing engines here, but the gameplay. However, I have to agree that UT2004 brought some very interesting goodies like the TV and built-in voice systems, lots of maps and game modes. Well, BFV is an EA game, so we are used to get a half finished game.

Up the Irons!

The 2k4 engine is FAR SUPERIOR then Bf V. No doubt about it, I just dont like the speed of the game. Id like it if they toned it down a little and put realistic weapons andvehicles in it though, that would be a sick game Smile

I had a hard choice to make when i bought a game yesterday in the "Disc + Discs" shop in town. I stood there wondering.. "Bf: Vietnam or UT2004?!". I bought Bf: Vietnam. I prefer modern warfare type games, UT2004 is a bit to futeristic for me.. although i will be buying it next month Wink

I've bought ut2004. I played the demo alot. so I decided to buy it. but for some damn reason, the serial code is wrong Mad Evil or Very Mad . so I went back to the shop where I've bought it. I got a new one, I tried to install it. and again, the damn serial code is incorrect Mad Evil or Very Mad . so I went back again. now I have to wait till monday. then they call to the producer Mad . I nearly trew the game + my computer through the window Mad

ps. I tried a key generator. it worked. ut2004 has 6 damn cd's. when I tried to install it with the key gen code, the installation crashed when I needed to put cd 3 in my computer. man... fuck the damn game

you cant really compare them...there both seperate types of game, UT2K4 is fast paced and action packed, BF:V is a more tactical game, i like them both, depending on what mood im in.

I think I'll just wait til' a full version patch for the beta for Half-Life 2 comes out, or the full version patch for Doom 3. But what I want really bad is for a new game like renegade. Renegade u dont half to wait for vehicles to spawn and yur not absolutely fucked when attacking a vehicle, and u can shoot from a vehicle in 3rd person.

You can in BF:Vietnam too. Press buttons F9-F12....or is it F9-F11....either or. You can!

Anyways, I think once they patch this game a few times and add a few things this will be sick!
I mean the knives suck big time, I was extremely dissapointed in that. As for the shovel, just look closely youll find them in the maps.
The m14 is just a sick weapon, I get more headshots with that then using the sniper rifles, patience = lots'o'headshots!

PS: Anyone dissapointed on how you cant melt the Vietcong with your torch as an engee? That wouldve been sick, but oh well, im sure theyll possibly patch that.

I wouldn't go for BFV, simply because there's a 100% free download mod, called Eve of Destruction, for BF:1942. That mod, only being at version 0.2, already has more in it than the new game does. There aren't any glaring bugs or balance issues, either. And EA would want me to pay...what, $30-$50 for less of a product than what is made by a non-profit mod team? No thank you...
