im not saying i suck...but i don't think that i should be considered lower than anybody because i havn't been using ps for very long. not saying that i should be lifted high either. it's too early to judge where i'll be at. if i'm better than some, so what, doesn't mean jack to me. I could have a white document with a 1 pixel dot on it and still be better than my brother.
i guess what i'm tryin to say is...everyone who says i suck...well then fuck you because i havn't had much time to learn. if you spent only 1 week in ps...i'd like to see your shit as good or better than mine. to all those who say i'm pretty decent...i don't really think i'm all that good, i think i've produced some quality work from the time i've been in photoshop, but i don't have enough skill or experience to be told that i'm good.

So what...
1) Your working with a company that designs graphics, the people buy graphics from you dont care if you only had one week of use on PS they would only care if your good or not.
2) When it comes down to it i had PS probaly longer than you, but i never used it. All together i probaly used PS for about 20 hours, but most of that time i just was messing with it making bull shit like this:
Not much eh, so how do i spend so much time making bull like this? Well i edited and edited it till i gave up and made a different one. Doign the same thing over and over only to make myself avatars. Nothing different only the same thing because i never knew how to do anything else. I didnt even touch a tutorial till like 2 weeks ago because i wanted to learn myself [ask Bawls]. I didnt get anywhere so i took Balws advise and used tutorials and actullay started learning stuff, though i was learning i still hardley used PS Spending less than 30min everyday. So i hardley use PS, still you use it more than me considering your part of a graphic design company so you probaly have more experiance than me. So its unfair to judge you, what about me huh? So quit complaining

Yours are graphics - it just looks good
To me aprime's is better, though cow yours are great. If you two had a contest to compete aginst each other for graphics - aprime will win.

first of all...I am part of a web/graphics design "team" more or less cause we're technically not a company (not that it matters). i am a web designer. i create the layouts, and up until a week ago, I couldn't produce a graphic worth squat. now that i am starting to produce work worthy of being called a graphic, i am starting to become a graphics designer as well. for the majority, i am gonna stick with web design.
z, i never said that you were worthy of being judged. i am just sick and tired of people judging my work when i am basically just a web designer. if you wanna judge me, judge my layouts. forget about the graphics and look at the usability, the overall design of the site. true, i never pointed out that i'm a web designer mostly, but i would think that knowing i had only been workin in ps for a week, people would not choose to look down their noses at me. i suck at ps, i think i am getting better. i never expected anyone to go WOAH...AWESOME when they saw my work. you probably don't expect that from anyone as well.
as for aprime's work being art. he probably chooses it to be like that. cow, me, dark (can't say this totally for everyone but i am pretty sure of it) we aren't doing it to be art...we're doing it to be graphics. we want it to be flashy, eye catching. we are part of design companies. we want them to be like, hey...cool...that caught my eye...wonder if they could do that for my site. also, aprime has spent more time in ps and has been able to grasp the idea of tone, mood, shades, etc...

Ok... You guys want to know what art is?
For me, art is expressing myself by producing an image using the tools that i have (PS) and actually show emotion and how i feel into the picture.
You'll notice in my pieces that sometimes the graphics are bright, sharp edges and shiny.
Others you'll notice are dark, rounded and shadowed. The darker ones usually come up when im feeling down, depressed, had a shit day or just plain not happy. The brighter ones are the kind when things are going ok, im happy, enjoying myself and on a high.
Also Aprime and other guys who were on the NOS boards noticed that when i had a bit to drink, my work quality used to just make the rest of my work look like shit.
See you need to actually walk around outside see things with your own eyes and actually be inspired. These are the kind of things that make a good artist.
I've been using PS for about a year now, its my converter tool. To convert my feelings into graphical images. Im also a Grafitti artist, the can is another tool of mine to express feelings.
If you guys can get the inspiration and recognise it, you will notice the quality of your work gradually get better and better.

How can you compare your work to mine? Your just a bunch of filter whores!
Complex editing in the bridge photo, didn't just colored it you know, same thing goes for Virgin-Stock's photo (which is by the way the hoooooootttttttteeeeeeesssssttttttt girl I've seen  ).
On a side note, Madtone "pwnz" me, and so does Aphex.
Aphex has alot of talent, the kind of talent that any company is looking for, I surely think he could find a good career in the design buisness (I'm not displaying the work he's done for me for safe reasons)
Madtone is the strangest designer I've seen, has talent in everything, average professional designer...AND photographer...But also alot busy.
We've always understood each other I think, he's one of my favorite kangaroo lover  .
