They will say " good " but in actual fact, its not going along to well, Too much time taken to build this. I know I couldn't do even better, Hell I wouldnt even know where to start, but alot have given up on this whole project, It kind of seems like a joke now. Hopefully they will be finished by year 2007.

By which time I hope they add you to the global banlist, along with your OZ buddies, for being total assclowns.

He does kind of have a point. Back in october-ish or sometime around then, I remember the "Expected to be done in a month" coming from someone in staff.. then in December, we were told it's expected in january new year.. it's now March.

When people keep making promises, or selectively worded "It should be ready by" statements, and things don't happen... people will lose trust.

Now ACK, if you're going to hate OZ, don't hate it because of Invader, hate it because its leaders are--to put it nicely--somewhat challenged in the mental department.

I'm well aware that Hellweed and that other guy (Can't remember his name offhand) are idiots. Most of their clan members are. About the most they're capable of is coming here to whine about me.

Yes RG has taken much longer than we origionally gave the impression of, partly because of its complexity but mostly because the various team members have conflicting and busy schedules. Some of us are in the US, some in Germany etc, and having people in different timezones with free time slots in their busy schedules (between school, work, girlfriends, life in general) that mesh is not as easy as one would think. I know some people probably think we will never finish, but believe me we are close to being done and have not come this far for nothing. I honestly cannot give a firm release date, and everyone has heard "soon" too much for me to even throw that out. So I hope my explanation of why it has taken so long helps everyone understand why. Hopefully out efforts will pay off and when RG is released it will be solid enough to not only thwart all but the most determined attempts to circumvent it, but will also allow us to add some nice features to Renegade, such as auto map downloads, server MOTD's, etc.

Waiting does indeed suck, but hopefully it will be worth it.

Some bugs (actually only one) are being worked out in the encryption system, the rest is mostly testing and cosmetic work.

And you, of course, are the standard by which all others are measured intellectually I suppose.

I especially love far ranging "you're retarded" statements when people can't spell, use punctuation and have no concept of grammar structure.

A spelling checker wouldn't keep you from capitalizing words after a comma.

Viva la Resistance!
lol

To be completely honest I opened the thread to 'test the waters' if you will. I hope I'm not stirring up too much trouble.

I have pretty much dropped off the radar in the Rene Community (this post doesnt help, lol) but I had visited my old clan's website/forums to say hello and give them a personal update (some thigns I was going through that most of them were familiar with) -- when the subject of RenGuard came up. So my interest was sparked and I checked out the page.

I'm sure any of the RenGuard staff would readily admit that they can understand the skepticism of some members of the community --so don't be upset with me when I said that I was hesitant to believe anything had been released. When I saw that nothing had been released I was kind of amused (please don't take that personally). So I thought I'd start a thread to see how alive some of you were.

Nice to see some old faces.

Most of you would be pleased to know that I've almost completely changed as a person in the last 3-4 months or so. The events in my life are to blame for this.

ACK, I hope all is well with you. I know that there are a lot of people that support you and I know there are a lot of people that despise you. But I will openly say that even though some of your posts were a little 'turbulent' I think you're a good guy and a loyalist of the game ... which I stand behind.

Invader, I know we've had our bouts, but there's no reason to take a game to a personal level so I hold no grudges. You're a good player and you have quite a few people that stand behind you in your skills. Myself included.

mrp: We all know _OZ_ has issues (lol jk) ... but you guys (at least from when I last played with you) were a very respectable and talented clan.

Blazer: Keep up the good work. I am by no means a professional programmer, but I do have a programming background and I can imagine what kind of challenges your team is facing right now. As always, and now more than ever, if there is anything I can do to help just let me know. Even if RenGuard is not used by a single person at least you can have the satisfaction of saying "we did it". Good luck to you!

On these notes I depart.

Renegade was a phenominal game that I enjoyed devoting a part of my life to. But as no one thought they'd hear me say, "life does go on without renegade" (lol). I'm playing generals now (under the same SN, by the way, for those of you that want to play me) ... and that is a pretty decent game.

Take care, all!
