I have gotten a new parasite on my computer. Ad aware can't find it neither can a virus scan. IT is even getting around my firewall. It seems to be installing a new app everytime I start up. Some of them refuse to be deleted and when I shut them down or quarantime them they get restarted every time I open IE. Nothing seems to work. I have check the MS webaite and they want me to buy a new proggie to kill this stuff.

Anyone get this? Or have a clue on how to deal with it?

Download Spybot: Search and Destroy.

It's my anti-spyware program, and sounds like it would kill your nasty little bug.

By the way, I hate anything that installs programs on to a computer without the owners express consent. Mac OS X is nice because programs just can not do that. Unix won't let them.

We'll need a lot more detail if you want us to help...

Sometimes formatting is the best choise though. It might actually save some time.

Format, then use Opera from http://www.opera.com

I personally love it; and it's nowhere near as vulnerable as IE is.

Two of the programs it has installed are:

AGRSMMSG.exe

and

and bundle.exe

I have installed HiJackThis but the log it generates is complex and not all that easy to read hope someone can help me with this.

IE goes to this address

Try Spy Sweeper with updated definitions, also post the HiJack this log, I can usually spot some of the nasty stuff. If I can't I will link you to a forum with some all-pro's with this kinda stuff.

I found a spyware bot by simply hitting Crtl + Alt + Del. Goto Processes, and look for any suspicious programs running. Now, DO NOT SHUT IT DOWN from the Task Manager. Instead, start a search for the name of the program, and delete it from that source.

Hope that helps. Smile

Once you get rid of the spyware, Mozilla is another alternative to IE.

And Mozilla's other browser, Firebird (Renamed to Firefox recently), is almost exactly like IE.

Werid, I was just watching tv (Cable card) and this little installion window popped up. It installed fourprograms, and one was an ad parasite. My computer started to go ad pop-up crazy, so I disconnected the modem, and then went through "Add-Remove Programs" and hunted them out. I found all four and deleted them. I have not had a problem since..........well yet anyway.

Just did a google search "www.incredifind.com spy ware", and came up with a forums page with an uninstaller.

Forum: http://www.experts-exchange.com/Applications/Q_20854415.html
Uninstaller: http://www.incredifind.com/downloads/incredifinduninstall.exe

If it's just a browser search hijacking you're trying to cure download this...

Browser Hijack Blaster : http://www.wilderssecurity.net/bhblaster.html

Could also try this method...

- If you use Windows Internet Explorer, find the menu "Tools>Internet Options>Advanced".
- Scroll down and beneath "Print" you have "Search".
- Set "Do not search from address bar".
- Save & exit.

Next time you have to select your favourite seach site - but it solves the nuisance.

Good luck with the problem.

Formatting just because of that is stupid.
That's ridicilous. Are you saying that he should get an advertisement-supported browser to get rid of ads or pay 30$ for adless version???
I would rather choose some other browser that is actually FREE and has NO ADS.
