I remember when they announced Generals it was spring break, and game companies like to keep a 6 month cycle going for certain series and games, so it seems logical that they might make it public.

God i hope so. But there's no real way to be sure, and all these developers, publishers and designers have tight lips.

Considering EA lackluster efforts to make real CNC games, I sort of hope not. But if they do and it actually has a plotline I'll probably get it because I'm a consumer whore. But isn't the Generals dev team making Lord of the Rings battle for Middle Earth?

A 6 months cycle? What gaming planet do you live on? AAA titles take at least 18 months to develop. If you went round announcing new ones every 6 months, you'd never get finished.
