Nice...

But one thing i should mention is that charging extra for WOLspy or GSA hosting, isn't a great idea. Simply because they were provided free and their maker's may not want others to make profit from it. Usually it will say somewhere with the application if you can or can't make profit from it. You will have to ask djlaptop if its ok with him to charge for WOLspy.

i am not chargeing because its wolspy i am chargeing because it connects to GSA which i dont like Razz (easier to get server IP) im gonna download wolspy now and check the readme for the profit thing Smile

I don't believe that you can legally charge people extra for either WOLSPY or GSA.

Why? Simple. I doubt you would wish to pay DeeJay or Gamespy royalties. Did you make WolSpy? No. Do you have DeeJay's permission to charge for an application he made "freeware"? No.

I think.


As long as his income doesn't exceed what he's paying for the bandwidth, then it's fine. As in essance, he's charging for the bandwidth usage, not the program.

lol the reason i make them pay for GSA is coz it is MUCH easier for people to get server IP and DoS it :rolleyes: and also about WOLSPY it connects to GSA Wink and i could always disallowed it all together Wink

EDIT: happy i am disallowing them both now Razz

i kow it is not hard on wol but on GSA people tend to get the server IP anyway and give it to people so they just click it to load up the server REALLY pisses me off Mad

Its easier (for me anyway) to get your server IP from WOL than GSA. Hiding your IP is NOT a valid reason for *anything*. If you have a server on the internet its IP is either in plain sight, or very, very easily obtained. Even if you could not log into wol or gsa and directly get a servers IP, a simple packet sniff would reveal both its IP and port.

Warranto is right.

If you want to charge for hosting, charge for hosting. I have no beef with that. It's like if you download Apache and then charge for webhosting. They have no claim to any $$$. Neither do I.

If, however, your WOLSpy has trouble, which some people have reported, you'd better be prepared to issue refunds if the customer so desires.
