I picked this game up for Christmas, being the C&C fan that I am. I was surprised at what an active community this game has. Well, anyway, I'm using ASE as my server browser. Is that best? I think that server are hosted on both WOL and through GameSpy, is that correct?
Also, what are some of the most played custom maps? I'm not able to play on a lot of server because I don't have the map. What's a good site for this? I've also seen talk of mods for Renegade that are Red Alert and Tiberian Sun mods. Where can I get these? Thanks

Yes you can play on both WOL or GameSpy.
I prefer WOL mode as it has a global ladder, and also you have extra ability to /page, /invite, /locate people.
As for popular maps, you can check out the ratings of maps on renmaps.com ( http://www.renmaps.com/index.php?action=category&id=2 ), Servers running maps you don't have will show as greyed out in the WOL server browser.
