First, copy all your skins, maps and other data you added to renegade yourself to a save location on your harddrive.

Then open up Regedit via Startmenu>Run> Regedit [enter]
Delete the entire Westwood Key found under "My Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Westwood"
http://server5.uploadit.org/files/zunnie-deletewestwoodregedit.jpg

Now delete the entire Renegade installation directory manually eg. C:\Westwood , Delete that directory hold down "Shift"
when you hit delete then its deleted instantly and not moved to the recycle bin.

Now you reinstall Renegade to any directory you want it in.
Download the last patch that was provided by westwood: Ren_1037_English Patch and install this. Re-run the Renegade Config,
copy the maps, skins and stuff you backed up back to the Renegade/data directory and run Renegade. Have fun Smile

Then you havent done what i told you to do in my first post else it WOULD work...

And im pretty sure you have NOT done all that because you replied to my post on how to fix it about 10 mins after. Thats a bit TOO fast, its pretty much impossible to install renegade in just 10 minutes if you did all that what i described in post 1

oh please.. shutup Razz
______________

hmm.. then check the InstallPath in the registry ,
There are two things you can do here:

1) In case the string DOES exist, double click on it and change the
Path so that it does match your renegade installation folder.
I had this simular problem when installing the Renegade FDS
onto a different drive after uninstalling it.

2) In case the string does not even exist, then you need to
create it by doing this:

Right click and choose New > String Value
Rename the "NewString" to "InstallPath and then double click on it.
And enter the path to your Renegade.exe
(C:\Westwood\Renegade\Renegade.exe for example)

Its weird it doesnt work though, this should work always w
hat i descibed earlier.
