Mine came with the new puter. Its cool I guess. I just want to know how to copy DvD's to my hard drive and play them whenever I want? I copy all files (via right clicking and dragging, then I get a bunch of Video_TS files and waht not and nothign plays them. Well, Media player plays it but the sound is all goofy. Roxio Easy CD/DVD Creator doesnt have any options of copying DVD to hard drive. If anyone knows, could you please fill me in? Im really wanting to copy the Band of Brothers set to my computer before I have to give it back to my friend. Blah! Thanks!Smile

you can "rip" dvd's with a standard drive, you don't need a dvd-rw.

you need special ripping software, just search the web for dvd ripping software, should come up with something.

be warned, they are about 1.5 gigs each movie.

Yah I just downloaded DVDDecryptor. Works pretty good. I still wish I could have it make it into one file, instead of breaking them up though. Oh well, time to burn baby burn! Smile

Here in the Uk there are a few that can play MPEG4 Divx and everything else such as WMA, MPEG, JPG. Some of them even have ethernet ports now so you can stream files from your computer.

eBuyer is the best place for a cheap DVD RW (UK anyway) as there going for around £60 and thats for a half decent one that will do the main -R & -RW formats.
