A couple websites get hacked, WOL and EA go offline and have technical issues, and you think WOL is closed down? Nah, I don't believe it. Sure, they don't care much about WOL anymore, so if more than just WOL is down, I'm sure their priorities just aren't there at the moment. It'll be back.

They have most probably just got server or routing problems as the uk site is fine. There have been no messages to tell us that they are shutting down so why just pull the plug?
With it being Christmas it may take a while to get the problem fixed though.
As you know EA sucks!

Even if WOL was shut down, it's not the end of Renegade, we will just scoot over to All Seeing Eye or Gamespy. It's really not that big of a deal.

Why would EA close down WOL? What better would it do?
Anyway, like ACK says they should atleast make an annoucement or give us a few weeks notice.
They probably might just be upgrading their software or possibly having technical difficulties.

Why would they host it for crappy reborn? Reborn is a MOD for RENEGADE, WOL is for "games", not modifacations for games.

um...your picture does not actually prove anything...
The fact that EA is acting as a download mirror for files does not prove that they are shutting down WOL...
Besides, you play Reborn on WOL, and a big company would never shut down an entire game's servers to make a whole set up for one mod...especially not with everyone acting in an angry, unsatisfied fashion about said mod...
A better idea would have been to post your "mate's" email...if your story is true, his e-mail would undoubtedly provide supporting evidence...
Smells like someone trying to start another rumor...

Who's ass at EA would you kick? I just use GameSpy when WOL is down, I don't care since the n00bstories server uses that WOL/Game Spy thing. . . so either way I can get into a good server.
