For as long as i remember with this computer, this popup has always appeared when i open a saved office document, be it using Excel/Word etc...

See a screenshot:

Here's the example document to download, just to show you it's not a macro.

Is there any way to stop it from appearing?

I've had a look through the options and document template (normal.dot) and nothing looks wrong in there.

This happens alot with MS Access 97, as i see that your using it.

Right, Word/Excell makes a autorecovery file every few mins so/if it crash's and close's you still have a backup that you can load up.

Now to delete this backup, you go to:

C:\Documents and Settings\<yourusername>\Application Data\Microsoft\Word

Its best of to just delete all the autorecovery files there if you don't need a backup copy of anything.

Now try and load up the file again and see what comes up and please tell me.

The path doesn't fully exist, i have C:\Documents and Settings\Nick\Application Data, but theres nothing in there that's relevant to Word or Microsoft.

Thanks anyway madtone, i've turned off the 'save autorecover every X minutes" and now it doesn't come up anymore. Smile yaya
