Ok, so as some of you may or may not know, over here in California, all high school students are required to take a test in order to graduate. This test is called the California High School Exit Exam (CHSEE). Well, there was recently a law that was passed that allowed all high school Seniors not to take the test. Ok, imagine this senarion.
You are a Freshmen(meat), and you need to take that test. Well, you do but you fail it.
Onto next year...
You are a Sophmore and you are required to take the test again... and you still don't pass.
Moving on...
You are now a Junior, and you yet again have to take that darned test. Oh, but guess what, you still don't pass it!
Now... onto your last year of high school...
You did it, you are now a Senior, the highest grade level in high school. But what ho? Half of the school year has already passed by and you haven't been called to take the test again, why? Well because of that law that was just passed, you are no longer required to take the CHSEE.
But wait... you have taken the test 3, count 'em 3 times, and you no longer have to take the test anymore.

It specificly said that Seniors are no longer required to take the test in order to graduate. Well then they might as well get rid of the test if that's the case.

Ours is called the "FCAT", Florida's Comprehensive Assessment Test...
During the Freshmen year it was a practice test, the last three years it's for real. You had three chances to take and pass it, if you pass it you don't have to take it again. Luckily, I passed the silly thing the first time during my Sophomore year (I'm a senior now)... It's really easy, the only way you can fail it is if you just don't care, or if you're really that dumb.

FINALLY! Someone from Florida to share my pain!!!
I'm a sophomore now, and I absolutely HATE the FCAT. It's an easy test, it's just that they make you spend so much time "practicing" for it, you don't get ahead in the classes.
I say keep the test, but don't prepare for it. The preparations themselves are gay and useless.

(The grades for the FCAT have been posted over here, have you received yours yet? Did ya pass?)

I received my results in the summer from my freshman(meat) year. 99 on math, 98 on reading.
The test is easy. That's why it's such a waste of time.
