9800XT.
The pro cards (e.g. nVidia Quadro, ATI FireGL) are aimed, of course, more towards graphics apps and are optimized for them. As such, their gaming performance is in almost all cases below the level of the companies' consumer cards (sometimes a little, sometimes a lot).
WOL: mbakshi, Radeon980

Yup, the Radeon 9800 is still better. It was the same with the 9000 and the GeForce 4. The 9000 was better. Hell, the 9700 and 9800 are both better than the FX.

Renegade always does that. It isn't 100% foolproof.
About the GFX cards... I'd say the 9800XT is aimed primarily at gamers, so it will perform best for gamers.
However, all the cards mentioned here are high end, top of the line, insane performance.
I'd be happy with either card, but if you want best performance, listen to all the others here and go with the XT.
And for whoever posted about the $2000 Quadro card....
It is for graphical software rather than gaming.
And so is.....

Mines 1900MHz and it still slows down on maps with tons of AI. Lots of AI=bad. That's why I keep them down about 8-16 in every map, good gameplay, but your machine can still handle it, even when it's hosted on multiplayer. Anyway, it's not the best high end graphic card, but it's still my baby, and I love it. The Radeon All In Wonder VE (cheap stock computer didn't come with AGP slots for the 7500). Runs battlefeild fine, not so much Planetside, Ren runs great on it too. Along with the connection for TV, I can watch TV while I chat online in a window above it. I've hooked everything up to this computer, playstation, n64, VCR's to record VHS movies digitally, and of course, my analog camera to make some skate vids. I love my card because Battlefeild is the most demanding game I play, so I don't need an expensive 128-256 card. I love my 64MB .
