I'm getting REAL TIRED of this crap! After 11.5 minutes of game play (I timed it), each server on Westwood (er, EA) kicks me out. If I reconnect, it works fine for another 11.5 minutes. It is not my computer or my connection and this is REALLY PISSING ME OFF! What the hell is up with Renegade? I have been playing this game since it came out and I NEVER had this problem. Help!!!!!

Can you be any more accurate, I mean like was it 11.52 or 11.521? If you can't then reinstall your graphics card drivers.

Shove LAN IP in DMZ - problem fixed.
In the end it doesn't matter if you are who you say you are. You will still mean nothing to me.

I have no idea, but I usually pick from the lowest pinging servers, so yeah, I think it's close to me. I was able to play 35 minutes tonight before getting the boot on [BR] Clan FUD Memorial Server. This is after I removed Symantec AV Corp 8.1. The problem is I need to keep some type of antivirus on my PC, because I sometimes VPN into work and I signed an agreement that I would be running SAV with the latest definitions on my home PC. Perhaps I could setup a dual-boot on my system or run it on a second PC.
What I don't understand is if it is truly a problem on my end, how come Mad Spy works great? And I have no problems with Quake II. I can play Quake II until I go blind and I never get disconnected once from any server.

Update: I played on one server for a whole hour. Tried Fastc0nn Renstation.net Public 4 server and got cutout at 11 minutes each time. I decided to load Renegade on my Sager laptop as a test and .... was able to play for 35 minutes before it cutout. It was an improvment over 11 minutes! I may try rebuilding tomorrow to see if this helps the problem.

Aright, this shall be my final update to this topic, I promise. I think I finally figured out the problem. I was running firmware version 1.44 on my Linksys BEFW11S4 router. I decided to upgrade to firmware to version 1.45z. I downloaded it and flashed the router and it completed it successfully. I hopped back on the server that was cutting me off at 11 1/2 minutes and now it disconnects me at 7 minutes, 30 seconds! Well, what an improvement! I reproduced this result with at least two servers. I disconnected the router and hooked up my cable modem directly to the PC and reconnected to the same server and ... NO DISCONNECTS! Now I only tried it on one server, but this problem definitely seemed to be router related since the disconnection time has gotten shorter after the flash update.
After some advice from the Broadband Reports forum, I changed the MTU value on the router and this was the results:
MTU 900: Disconnection at 7 minutes, 30 seconds
MTU 1462 (default if it's set to disabled I think): Disconnection at 7 minutes, 30 seconds
MTU 1492: Disconnection at 15 minutes, 30 seconds
MTU 1500: Disconnection at 15 minutes
I was getting pretty desperate, so I did a hard reset on the router and bang, I played 30 minutes right through on the server that has given me so much heart burn! Let's hope this pattern continues. Whew!

get the newest firmware, and reset the router to factory defaults (not reset button), its on the password tab.
then everything should be fine, i had the same problem, seems the factory defaults don't have alot of goo that comes with hitting the reset button on the back of the unit.
