I am using a GeForce2 mx400 it runs BF1942, UT2k, Halo, MOHAA just fine for me. Someone if offering me a GeForce4 mx440 for ~$35. I have looked at some reviews and still cannot decide. Is it worth it? (I will not spend more than $60 for a video card any time soon)

I have a G4 mx420, lol I thought that was old!!!

Mine works pretty good, but once you get to playing 50+ players on renny it gets a bit slow.

ALthough the GeForce 3 ti series is faster then the GeForce 4 MX, the Geforce 4 MX series is a good upgrade from the GeForce 2 MX. I'd go for it as it seems a decent price.

If you want to go for a better upgrade then the Geforce FX 5200 or ATI Radeon 9200 series are a good cheap card offering DirectX 9 Support. Some places you may be able to get them as cheap as $85 depending where you look.

I'll give you the details.
I am running:
P4 1.7ghz
512 DDR
GF4 MX 440 64mb

My friend:
Amd athlon 2400+(2ghz)
512mb DDR
and a gf4 mx420 64mb

In a 32 player game we both ran the same things etc same resolutions. He ran max quality and i ran lowest. His fps nearly doubled mine.

Hey Yano, it seems a good price for a video card, I got one for £80 and it sucked, there goes £80 down the drain.

Also, as long as you get to keep the current video card your using, there's nothing stopping you from removing that card and putting your old one back in if you don't like the one he / she is selling you. Smile

You can pick up a dabsvalue GeForce FX 5200 for £50 and it comes with loads of software - quite a good deal if your looking for a cheap powerful card.

UK only though - you'd be waiting about a month to get it though in this gay postal strike here. Mad
