I've just been playing Halo PC and getting problems with the mouse lagging slightly behind my movements. only by a fraction of a second, but just enough to be anoying, This happens in one or two games, just figured I'd see if anyone else has this problem and better yet, an idea how to fix it.
I've updated the drivers and tried it with intelipoint enabled and disabled. My PC has no problem with frame rate, it's just this slight delay on the mouse reaction. It's not the mouse pad and it's an optical mouse too.

Suggestions?

I know it's lag, I need to know what might be causing the lag. I'm talking single player here, not network or internet, so it's not a packet loass / lag type thing.

Nope, no batteries, tho it is a USB mouse, I wouldn't have thought that would make a difference

Does it have a ball? No really, does your mouse have a ball, because I find with mine the ball will get stuck once in a while as it is moving.

An optical mouse doesn't require a mousepad. The only time it really helps to have a mousepad with an optical mouse is when the surface you're using it on isn't exactly flat or there isn't much texture for the mouse to pick up on..

I use a pice of A4 green card that is stuck to my desk withdouble sided tape as a mouse pad. Works perfect, never jumps, also the card makes an excellent notepad Smile

OMG I didn't see that he said it was an optical mouse
I have noticed with mine though that using soething white, or a bright color, the optical mouse doesn't work as well as normal some reason, i don't get it.

It's some kind of software issue I figure. It's deffinately not a problem with the mouse, mouse pad, dirt or anything else mechanical.

thats network lag, that only happens online. I'm talkin about mouse lag, in single player. To be honest most people probably wouldn't notice it, i just played way too much quake.
Got to be honest, Halo PC was more than a tad dissapointing.
