Just for the record, my incompetence as a leader has sure killed Rencorner: almost at 2000 registered members and we have multiple successful servers in several different games. My failure as a leader has also lead to our paypal account having enough money to pay all our server bills for 3 years. That is unless I decide to spend it on drugs. Only time will tell.

If there is one thing I can comfortably say, it's congratulations and hopefully you continue to let the name live on. You definitely beat my expectations.

But let's get the record absolutely straight, and assign credit where its' due. The main consistently-online userbase, was brought together and was made whole under my leadership. I created the foundation that made your success possible as I did what was necessary to start up a community that would be successful in just a short few months based entirely around a game over a decade old. No easy feat.

When you took over RC, we were already over half the registered users you currently have, which was accomplished in a 1/3rd of the time under my leadership. The Renegade server seems to be a wasteland compared to where it was, and Renegade-X benefited other communities.

The Minecraft server, although I haven't looked at any statistics or went playing through it myself - seems to be well managed. Multiple game modes and options, cool. But the only other game even worth mentioning that you host is Killing Floor, and while the server has traffic itself, it never seemed to bring in traffic to the wider community side of things.

Since that PayPal jab was probably made at me, i'll remind you I was 12 when I first started up RC, it was more popular than it is today. I wasn't born into a rich family either, servers were a lot more expensive back then (the performance abysmal for the money), and somehow I still made it work. These days I don't have a dollar on PayPal, and I still smoke the finest herb this side of North America has to offer. I'm alive and well, and I've never had to suck dick to make ends meet and pay for my infamous "drug [weed] addiction"..

Actually Ani, Shai gets the real credit for it's current state with the backing and support of Trojan and a few OSTK and others. When you were there you had a good thing going, but it hit rock bottom m8. So you can't take credit for it's current state.

The strong OSTK connection to the server just like the MPF clan connection to the MPF server keeps peeps together and things going. Then with the addition of Ice and her game with the other ones they successfully launched they have a rocking gaming community, not just a Renegade community. It was Trojans vision and the results are commendable.

The common theme with the successful servers at this point in time is simply staff involvement. The staff at RC continued to play in the server even when it was empty and shai drove a lot of that (at least when I was still there and I can't believe it stopped). The staff has continued to build and the results are what you see today. I'm very happy for them and hope they continue for as long as gaming communities like MPF and OZ clan has.

Regardless of how the situation was in regards to my departure of RC and how Volcom became owner, I do believe it ended up in good hands.

That includes shaitan, Volcom, yourself and anyone else currently or was a member of the staff. I'm not trying to take credit away from anyone.

If I had continue to lead RenCorner, I probably would have shut it down by now, or passed it along anyways.

You might have forgotten Wyld, but i'm the one who pretty much dragged shaitan by the hair and pulled him into the Head Administrator position. He was very resistant at first. At the same time, OSTK was essentially just history and non-existent at that point. It was slowly revived under my leadership, I even hosted them a new website, and the connection between RC and OSTK was (emphasis on was) made strong between D4rx and myself.

The first few months of the Renegade server, I sat in the server afk 24/7 with an IRC script to notify me if someone joined so I can entertain them with a game just to get it noticed and populated.

You wouldn't know because you weren't around for that either, as you were a long time friend and I pretty much dragged you in as well.

Again, just setting the record straight and assigning credit where its' due. The foundation I set for what you see today is still very much intact in the community.

I've mainly been playing League of Legends on PC and a small variety on Xbox One like GTA 5 and of course CoD but AW kinda blows...

I'm shocked you mentioned Titanfall, as I am every month where I hear someone mention it, isn't it completely dead? And Hearthstone never looked appealing to me to even try. Tell Me

Eww LoL Players Buuh!!!
Im having GTA5 on PS4 and CoD,dont even mentioned that, i said after Ghosts i wont buy another CoD Game cuz they are getting more & more worse, i was kinda blinded by Kevin Spaceys appearance in AW and thought hey i give it a shot, played it for like 4-5 Hours and then never again, 1 of the worst games in History..

Well, Titanfall has a good Community, kinda like Ren had Years ago, without the Cheats & Drama & Douchebags ofc. Around ~1500 Players online each day on PC, they just released the DLCs for free so you get all the Maps and additional Stuff for 0.

the number of times over the years that DJ has said something along these lines is baffling to me - all three of those things apply directly to him
everywhere he goes there's enough drama caused to put together a Broadway-style play, and he started cheating because he couldn't beat players like Iran

self-defense mechanism seems to be holding up quite well for him

on topic - most CoD games have been exact replicas of the first Modern Warfare, and just roll out with slightly better graphics and different guns
no one can tell me they just randomly decided to up and make AW on their own, and that it had nothing at all to do with Titanfall coming out

not sure how or why there has never been another FPS game like Renegade, because the concept is highly marketable and different from your average deathmatch shooter game

Renegade mostly resembles RTS games, which is why other shooters don't really compare with Ren. Everyone seems to be developing deathmatch style games with recapturable objective gamemodes.

As far as CoD goes with sharing certain mechanics of other games, the rabbit hole goes deeper than that.

The next CoD will be toned back on the vertical leaping, but they've added other things like running on walls (something Titanfall also has) and levitating in mid-air if you jump and then aim in; something the next Halo will have as well.

You can say every modern shooter has some kind of "stolen" elements from the games of before. They just keep packing in more and more crap into games, personally making them less enjoyable for me.

The worst part I think about AW is that "exo movements" they've brought in will be a tragedy for the series. Even if they go back to WW2, i'm sure Activision will pressure the developing studio enough to change the story so they have a crazy Nazi scientist developing next level weapons just so they can keep the super awesome amazing lazer beams and exo skeletons.

I seriously miss the old games, I feel like i'm outgrowing this crap.

CoD4 and MW2 were two of my favorite ever games ... i can't tell if i'm just getting too old for this shit or what but the most recent CoDs seem like you have to be a braindead moron to enjoy them. they are geared towards keeping everyone at an equal playing field level with the constantly changing spawns and nonsense there's no real strategy. it's like they want the bad players to enjoy being bad and pushed all the good players away ... i loved MW3s face off modes i played 1v1 all day every day and had like a 500 game win streak ... i loved playing league play in Black Oops 2 cause of the possibility to play against professional teams from optic, complexity, nv etc with poison and orca but they got rid of both of those modes now and its basic as fuck

titanfall on PC is a great game, glad i made the investment ... though i bought the whole game plus season pass for $15.00 when it came out through a mexican website using a proxy l0l

It's especially weird for me because i've always been a fast paced player in the other CoDs, where it was definitely a lot slower paced than AW. The only thing that really appeals to me about AW is that it seems like there are a whole lot less fucking campers.

I've tried every CS ever made, and i've been complete and total shit at every one. I can't comprehend how to aim properly, even after watching newb guides. Beyond that, I definitely understand the appeal, especially of CS:GO which has just been getting bigger and bigger [competitively] as time goes on.

This is really the only reason why I play CoD, everyone just seems to be shit.

I've always wanted to try out Titanfall, but it seems to be too much of a casual game for me. I haven't heard anything good about it outside this forum, and the only attractive thing to me is that the developing studio behind is made up of old Infinity Ward developers, which was/is my favorite studio behind CoD.

CS:GO is where its at for competitive FPS right now ... learn to play and you will love it. The aiming is not that hard as long as you just burst every gun and don't move when you shoot you will be fine. You just got to get into that pattern of strafing, and shooting the exact second you change directions so your dude is at a standstill for a millisecond. fairly easy game once you get the hang of it.
