My level editor crashed with 4.1 and now I can't get it to work.
So far, I've reinstalled ren, manually changed the install path in regedit, updated the game files, updated L.E., tried a few different version of l.e., downgraded and reupgraded my scripts and l.e. (to there respective versions), and STILL CAN'T GET IT TO WORK!
I'm in the middle of a huge mod project and I can't access it, please help!

Tell me exactly what happens, i.e. you start leveledit and then what happens? Does it crash? Display the mod dialog and then crash after selecting a mod? Give an error? Something else?

it crashed on loading an lvl file.
Before you ask:
I have tried the updated 4.1 rc3 of both the client download and the mod tools download. (and every logical combination with them.)
I fixed the registry ren install path
I reinstalled ren from disk, then did all that again. (more than once)
does this narrow it down a bit?
Btw, PLEASE allow for it to read from current temps to save the current work to the map before only reading from the map. Do the stock map .lvl files have presets in it?

Does it crash for every lvl file or just one specfic one?
Can you post the complete mod folder for the level you are trying to load?

I've tried it with several stock .lvl files and my mods also with it crashing every time I try to load one.
The scripts did change my install directory to an incorrect one but I changed it back. Is it possible there is another directory I don't know about that needs to be changed also?

When you start leveledit (and before you load any .lvl file) do you see any presets in the preset tree?
Best guess is that the InstallPath in the registry (which is what LevelEdit uses to find Renegade) is wrong.
