Will the Renguard player client cause a version mismatch when playing on servers that do not use Renguard (basically like a patch)? And will gun replacments be seen as "cheats" by Renguard?

Version mismatch? No. If you have RenGuard and the server doesn't, you can get in just fine. The server just won't be notified whether or not you're legit.
Replacement guns? Yes, and no. Yes if it doesn't give you an advantage. But if you make a super big gun, then no, it won't be allowed,
