Has anybody used Microsoft's IIS with the TTFS? Our does not seem to be working at all, even with a new one made from scratch with just one map... still doesn't download it. Could it be the MIME types perhaps?

When I try to download any of the files, I get a 404. Only the tt-scripts-4.0.exe seems to work. This sounds like something is misconfigured on the ISS server, or perhaps it is due to filesystem permissions.

You could be a bit nicer, you know. This isn't the "general discussion" forum and I intend to keep it that way.

Okay, humor does not transfer over text apparently. I was entirely joking in the fact that one of the most talented developers on the TT team had to tell me that all the files on our web server were 404ing...

Sorry, I genuinely appreciate your help or I wouldn't have asked! Razz

EDIT:

I added .* as application/octet-stream and that fixed all the 404 errors! Security issue, but IIS is terrible anyway and I need to move everything back to Apache. I'm still gonna try actually downloading a map before I say this is fixed, but that probably did the trick. Thanks for your help!

Thanks. I guess I misinterpreted, it just sounded very sarcastic. No worries.

lol believe me I understand, I posted that from my phone in a very tiny window and now I see that it sounds terrible!

Anyway, I've now gotten just C&C_Platforms_b2 and C&C_FjordsTR on our TTFS. However, it seems that when only some of the files are downloadable? I started Fjords, which loaded first because I had the map already installed, so I cleared my TTFS folder in %APPDATA% and then connected again - this time, it loaded about 1.5MB of data then it said "Failed to download required packages." Do you think this would be something missing, or maybe a specific file still 404ing?

The .ldd files still seem to be blocked.

I got it working, thanks for your help SEye! All of my issues were directly to related to IIS, one being .ldd files rejected by default in the "Request Mapping" section, one being that .* as application/octet-stream, and one being an issue with IIS encoded spaces in URLs with +. I had to edit the weird Web.config file with some entries I found on google.

Just don't use IIS. lol

I have TTFS running with IIS and ran into the same problems with MIME types.

StealthEye and I figured it out while talking it through on IRC about 6 months ago. It wasn't fun to get working but was operational.
