Normally it *should* work on W7/8 but might have some issues (you might need to run it in admin-mode or something like that). With the www.tiberiantechnologies.org community patch it will work for sure, and without admin-mode. The patch contains numerous bugfixes for renegade so it'll make your game experience even better than before
