Quote: | 'In the Netherlands, both in the police and outside, a great deal of attention is devoted to the low percentage of crimes that are solved. This percentage is approximately 10 %. In the surrounding countries, particularly in Germany, this percentage is significantly higher (40 - 50 %). According to a number of legal experts, this is because the detection of crime and the prosecution of suspects is not always obligatory in the Netherlands (Legality principle). On the grounds of general interest, (further) prosecution by the Public Prosecutor can be abandoned (Principle of Appropriateness). The question whether this scope also applies for detection is answered by jurisprudence in the 'Broodjeswinkel decision' of 31 January 1950. Detection is 'only' compulsory when it is part of the normal course of events and the normal conduct of the detective is in accordance with the task. This prevents the wastage of a low detection capacity.'

You are spreading FUD, Iran.
Also, Olaf isn't shutting XWIS down. AFAIK he rented a new server last night and I suppose he's setting it up soon. If this does not solve the issue, we're discussing new concepts that might help XWIS stay online during a DDOS.

oh and the article you cited is 10 years old, during that time crimes that were actually being reported dropped substantially.

|
Quote: | Het Openbaar Ministerie behandelde vorig jaar 226.000 zaken.

Ethenal wrote on Fri, 28 June 2013 10:12 | Well according to this nerd lucafer66, he's DDoSing everyone and demanding that they pay a certain amount of money per month to cease the attacks (in Jelly's case, he offered 10 a month then said 8 a month). He also said olaf wouldn't pay, and I presume that's why it's nowhere to be seen at the moment.

Get that puke to come here, we all can band together and troll the shit out of the guy enough that he commits harikari.

The guy who joined our IRC appears to have been a troll whom we banned 4 years ago. Whether or not he is capable of actually attacking us remains to be seen.

Typically you would compare the types of packets being sent to the IP from what it normally gets....which should be easy since it's a xwis server. If the packets do not fit the criteria, you block them at the router level.
I'm not sure why it would take all year? Surely you haven't tried to block 100k ip's 1 by 1?
The problem is that a lot of these budget providers that xwis is using wont do this for them.

Seems like another random idiot. He has not been in a Rencorner server since September of last year. Seems he disappeared for a while and came back attacking xwis and Jelly. I have yet to see him attack us or come on our irc, but I believe he will eventually just give up like they normally do. I can also confirm Xwis is not going down for good.
