The only one I use is facebook despite the issues (which im not to familiar with) to do with them selling information and such. All my friends use Facebook and nothing more, so I'm going to stick with where my friends are.
I doubt I would be a target if anyone had my Facebook information anyways lol.

That might change over time. TBH I really wonder what will happen.
ATM it is still in BETA and tbh I've never seen a BETA that was really close to the final version.
I must add that it has some interesting features like up to 9 people video/voice chat. (Now some of you might come to me and say SKYPE! but for more then 1 on 1, you have to pay )
Also, from all of these I think I trust Google+ most. Though trust and the internet doesn't really go hand in hand all that well imo

I only use Google+ as I'm one of the fortunate few that has more than three friends on it.
But why is Twitter on the list? It's more of a complement service to portals like Facebook or Google+. At least put LinkedIn on the list...

They require a phone number to confirm your account now, they could sell that. I don't care about any other information put on there, but I really don't need telemarketers calling me a couple years down the road because a company sold their data base or it was hacked.

The question is an 'also' as it says in front of the question and I already said this before to VuLTiMa
The poll is just to vote for your favorite or most used (I guess these go hand in hand but w/e ).
R315r4z0r wrote on Tue, 06 December 2011 00:56 | As for which one to trust? None of them and all of them. I don't really use any but how exactly are you asking we "trust" them? By not giving away personal information? Because that's pretty much what people do on those sites of their own free will.. so :\
|
If someone doesn't want to give personal information to one, I'd say he/she doesn't trust that network with that information.
Because he/she apparently pays attention to this, he/she could give an opinion on which they (would) 'trust' more (more secure or private etc). With other words; if he/she would give out information, which network would he/she do that on over the others and why?
If that person did give information, he/she probably didn't think about what happens with that information, or maybe doesn't care.
In this case, the question probably can't be answered by that person, unless he/she did so because he/she trusts that network with that information. If so, I'd love to hear their statement/opinion as to why that specific network.

Nearly a year in, I retract this statement. Twitter is arguably the most important social network now.
Google+ is still bad.

In terms of privacy, I'd much rather use Google+, fuck Facebook.

Jerad actually made a rather good point, since Facebook IS essentially toast if it goes down while if G+ is a flop, Google's going nowhere. But then again, I use Android on my phone and Chrome on my computers so they already log all my search history, website history, and god knows how much they log on my phone.
The thing with Facebook selling information is like... well: they can make a shit pile of money off of selling information on people (Facebook arguably knows more about most people than they do themselves), so of course they're going to fucking do it!
