Hello people,
as some of you may know we are running a new maps server with only new maps in rotation which has become quite a success lately with often having more than 20 people in there.
However, we seem to be attacked by someone every evening now it seems and all players lose connection to the server.
I'm getting a little bit tired of it now to be honest lol.
I don't know who is doing it either.
Does anyone know of messures i can take to maybe stop this?
Jelly(raven) has alrady given me snort and some tool for xwis but they dont seem to work against this guy.
At least not in its current configuration. If anyone has ideas please let me know 
So fucking sad really that people attack the server, if you happen to know who it is, you dont have to tell me or anyone about it but just tell them to stop. Thanks.
Anyway, if there is anyone with ideas please let me know.

Yes, It's very sad to see someone go out of there way to attack a server on a game that is 10 years old. What a fucking waste. MPF is a friendly community, the person that is attacking is either jealous or is attacking due to idiocy, and it's LOLZ to them. They don't want a 4.0 server that runs something other than the boring standard maps??

Apollo/ProjectX/whatever he calls himself was just mass-joining Jelly with IRC bots a couple of days ago, I believe he was involved with St0rm in some way or another - maybe that could be it? Or if you ask shaitan, it's probably me. 
Snort is what we use on Jelly's box, and it works quite well - it could very well be that the person that is attacking you is actually exploiting a bug in the FDS to cause it to crash, and not necessarily a simple packet flood like most attacks. But I see you said that all the players just lose connection, so it probably is just a simple DoS or DDoS attack. Do the Snort logs indicate anything?

Although there was a exploit that did cause the fds to crash which is what Wilo was doing to Jelly, I'm sure others knew about this too.
tbh, it wouldn't surprise me, if he was actually behind these attacks as he certainly possesses the knowledge to do so.
