So I noticed EA was trying to bait people into wanting C&C pins. If you guys are interested, we can approach other communities and get them remade again.

http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.342447619115854.97002.324066077620675&a mp;type=3

I can take the high-res 3D models I have of the GDI/Nod logos and use them as templates for a pin manufacturer. If we get enough money I (or whoever wants to manage this, I don't care) can place an order to get them custom made for anyone who wants a set.

Anyone interested?

It looks like the 3/4th of an inch to one inch pins are our best bet for price.

/I sent off for a quote on the GDI pin. I'll find out what the Nod pin will cost. Should be roughly the same, if not identical.
//We'd need to raise about $275 per logo, unless I can get them to make two sets of 50 for the $275 it would cost to make 100 of one pin.

I would defiantly fork over some cash to get my hands on those pins.

They wouldn't be identical to the ones WS sold in the late 1990s. They'd be better quality, since manufacturing has undoubtedly improved since then. Additionally, I'm thinking of getting them built out of solid metal instead of being enameled on, so they'll have a raised surface for the logos and the background will be recessed, making it catch light and look more impressive.

I dare say you could wear them with a suit. But we'll see - I'm sure I could replicate the original look of those pins that WS sold if people wanted that instead.

Sounds interesting. Might want to also make a version with Allies/Soviet logos.

Only if there's money for it. The minimum order seems to be $275, so it's roughly $2.75 per pin if we get 100 made. I'd want to get the money in first before I start buying this stuff. I'm not interested in skipping a mortgage payment to buy a set of 100 pins.

Anyone want to set up a page? I'll host it on my website. I'm not a great web developer - you'll notice that my website is a massive image map. It does what I need it to do.

I'll talk to Crimson and see if I can get her to host it or make a page for it. She seems interested in the project, and she's a lot more talented at web design (by a factor of about 500) than I am.

I'm thinking that style of pin, sans Colonel Sanders. I think it would look the most impressive and would be something that attracted attention.

Yeah, for GDI the Circular pin would be perfect, however for Nod, I think it would work better on either a Square pin or matched to the shape of the logo (triangle with corners cropped)

That's actually a good idea. Kickstarter is a great way to launch something like this.

I had never heard of Kickstarter but now having looked at it, that does sound like a good idea. If we post this in ALL the C&C communities (like CNCNZ), I think we could get the ball rolling somewhere.

I don't like the idea of Kickstarter. I tried setting up the page, but they're looking for tax information. I'm not interested in paying $350 to the IRS for a self-employment tax after receiving funds for this project. We'll have to do it via Paypal or something so it's not considered business income.

Crimson is taking care of the AmazonPayments side of things. She already runs a business so there won't be any self-employment tax beyond what she already would pay to the IRS. This shouldn't even be considered business income, but that's Kickstarter apparently. Come Monday, I should be getting information on a quote from the website I linked.

I'd buy some.

It's gotta be either the GDI logo or the Nod logo tbh.
