Exactly my point, both applications are against the Renegade AUP.

Actually, you didn’t.

What do you think using ASM to code the application is doing crimson?
Its Called “Reverse Engineering”

That's funny... earlier you said Final Renegade was legal.

You obviously aren't a programmer, then. You have no idea what ASM does, what it's used for, and why it's better than most programming languages.

"Lets go on to my next victim, FLOODED:

You are full of shit too!!!
DONT YA SEE THEY CANT GIVE OUT THE SOURCECODE!?
Why do you ask for the source now!? Why didnt you ask for the source when Dante made the other programs!? How about [BR] ??
No alpha or beta is released.... WELL DOH!!!!! Why the fuck should they do that??? So that the community has to download an update over and over again!???
And please dont even begin about logo copyrights!!! You don't know shit about the Renegade Community websites, fanpacks, copyrights and I bet you dont even know wtf HTML is!"

(1) I guess that's the same reason they didn't realease sourcecode for any Red Hat kernels or programs, huh? Because they were worried about hackers finding errors in the code. Your argument does not hold weight. If you knew ANYTHING about open-source projects, you would understand why it is done and the advantages of it. You're probably a Microsoft-drone, aren't you? "Must ... obey ... Bill ..."

(2) Dante's program isn't a world class program in my opinion. I have enough knowledge to produce my own software. And visual basic is one of the easiest programming languages out there (in my opinion).
And heaven forbid you'd have to "update" ... what a concept!

(3) I'm sure that when Crimson got her "permission" to run an official forum it was nothing more than a formal request by a professional. Companies don't have problems with things like that -- so it's not that unique. As for the logo, if you read the copyright information you'll notice that anyone can download, save, etc the logos (as you can with most logos for anything on the internet) as long as you do not manipulate it or misrepresent it. " ... as long as you do not manipulate it or misrepresent it". How long did it take to edit that graphic in Microsoft Paint? Probably not that long.

(4) Yeah, I don't know shit about websites, fanpacks, or copyrights ... whatever. My guess is that you're a 14 year old kid like most of the people out there that thinks he's an elite Renegade player, elite hacker, professional programmer, and webmaster all in one. Well guess what, punk? I'm a 22 year old PROFESSIONAL network security analyst with former black hat experience. I have a fairly extensive background in programming (various languages). And HTML is about as easy of a language (if not easier) as vB. In fact, I think it's much easier.

And to sumarize my argument against you, I will challenge you to *ANYTHING*. Writing a better program ... cracking a code ... hacking a website ... anything. Why do I challenge you? Because I'm convinced that you're a complete moron based on what you wrote to me. You have no idea who you're talking to.

I think a lot of you have a warped perception of who I really am just because I religiously played Renegade along with everyone else. That was a hobby people. You have no idea who I am in real life.

So, Nox, bring it!

~fl00d3d~

(1a) -Because they were worried about hackers finding errors in the code.- You answered correctly. And guess what!? Nobody knows you so I doubt it they will give the source to you.

(1b) "If you knew ANYTHING about open-source projects" < Well I know... But why does it matter? This isn't an open-source and they don't want it to become open source, see (1a) for the reason......

(1c) "You're probably a Microsoft-drone, aren't you? "Must ... obey ... Bill ..."" < pffff.... You're probably stupid, aren't you? "Must ... be ... stupid ..."

(2) You still didn't answer my question: "Why should they bring out an alpha version?" I mean... Its not open source... They are worried about crackers finding errors in the code...

(3) I have to think about an answer for (3) yet... Razz

(4) Sorry??? I THINK (?) I'm an elite player? I KNOW I am.. And no.. I don't think I'm a hacker or a pro programmer. (But you could call me webmaster, cos I made websites and I know PHP, Java & JavaScript... "Well guess what, punk? blablabla... moron stuff... blablala... " You didn't even understand You don't know shit about the Renegade Community websites, fanpacks, copyrights and I bet you dont even know wtf HTML is! Let me explain, what I meant to say is: You dont know anything about the community!!! ..... I don't care u being a nsa...

(5) I have no time to play with you... So no.... I don't accept your challenge. But hey, you could look in WOL for me. I want to blow up your face in Renegade... My nick is ColdNoX.
Let me help you finding me > In WOL TYPE: /locate ColdNoX ...

(6) You have no idea who I am in real life. .... < Yor a 22 year old PROFESSIONAL Exclamation network security analyst with former black hat experience.
Do we care? NO Exclamation

What I find odd about the above statement is the fact you falsified the truth when posting about Final Renegade, I am actually surprised you didn’t jump up and down screaming " Oh punk buster is infected”, because you sure as hell did about Final Rene and I cant seem to find any virus that you mentioned. Confused In short you have not told the truth.

That is interesting because I have made no comments about Final Renegade being infected, in fact I have made no comments at all other than responding to people asking why me, Ack, Crimson, shane etc made these cheats (we did not).

Iris2003

Both the self-proclaimed community leader and Blazer ( GF & BF , Both on the Renguard Team) have lied about Final rene, I realized this when I downloaded the application myself to check it out firsthand and also to validate what xtrmatt is saying.

We have been referred to as community leaders by community members, probably because we donate our resources of time, money, help etc, but we have never proclaimed to be leaders, especially not with the arrogance that you imply.

Iris2003

I have found people whom lie usually lie more then once, some people say "Oh why would they want out Serial numbers”, Well in short they can use your serial numbers to ban you as well as prevent you from playing Renegade via sitting on your Serial number with a bogus account.

Yes, there are many people who lie. That doesn't mean that EVERYONE is a liar. I cannot even fathom a reason that me or any member of the renguard team would want anyones serial number. We all have our own legit copies of Renegade. And if I want another, I will just go to Frys and get a legit one for $9.99.

Iris2003

I would have no problem using Renguard if Blazer could answer just 1 question with a truthful response..

why you have lied about this Final rene being infected with some type of virus ?

Iris

See above. I have NEVER stated that Final Renegade was infected with a virus. If you can show me where I said this, I would be interested to see it.

fl00d3d

But what about your peers? What about the people that work with you that are older than you? Are they more experienced that you? At least that's what I'm deducing from your statement.

Age alone is not a guage for experience. However, age does give one the chance to get more experience if they make use of that time.

fl00d3d

Further, I never had the cozy sysadmin job at my high school. No, I was too busy hacking the network. Now, one could sucessfully argue that it is much harder to secure a network than it is to attack one. I agree. But I'm sure you had a limited knowledge of the OS at that time and you were more or less creating user accounts.

Heh...I'm glad that from a single sentence from me, you assume that I knew nothing and deduce exactly what my job role was. I could tell you that I was the foremost expert, and that I was often pulled out of class to fix things because nobody else knew how the system worked, but that wouldn't matter as you would just find some other detail to nitpick, and it's just plain silly to even debate ones technical competence in high school.

fl00d3d

You flame on me for starting a "competition to see who has the larger balls" ... yet you continue to rave about your life and your accomplishments. You should do what I've done, and just stop talking about yourself and move on.

I didn't say word one about my experience and competence until you questioned them. As for doing what you have done, I probably allready did long ago unless you are working on something new and groundbreaking. I have worked with computer systems all my life and done everthing from hacking, to network security, to circuit design. I majored in Computer Engineering, and made a six figure salary leading a team of 12 IP Systems Engineers, so I will be damned if someone is going to tell me that I have no technical expertise. And yet although you keep insulting me and challenging my experience, when I correct you, you say I am "raving" and "bragging". Whatever dude.

fl00d3d

Explain how the cheats work. Each of them individually. Yes, you may think this is counter productive to your cause, but hear me out.

Then explain exactly what your product does to counter this. You don't have to release code ... (maybe have some people outside your group verify this) ... but put it in dummy language for people that don't understand the technicals behind it. This way they'll have more faith it what you're doing -- and if your program does something other than what you've explained, they can sue your ass.

That's not a bad idea and I have no problem with explaining in detail how the cheats work, after Renguard is released of course...no reason to start another wave of cheating by giving out how its done. As for releasing fake source code, it would probably work, but just not honest. The source code will not be released for the same reason you cannot view the source code to Windows Update patches, or windows itself. You are just told what it does, what it fixes, and thats it. If you don't trust the source then that is your problem. MOST people trust the RenGuard team, as we have proven by our past efforts of time, help, money, and services for the community that we are the "good guys".

To "fl00d3r",

I was going to write a long and sensible post and try to get through to your obviously small intellect, But I will not waste my time on an obviously thick-headed fuckwit who doesn't listen. So I will put it in the most simple of terms so that even YOU can understand it...

You have been OWNED on every thread you have posted in, No one cares what you have to say. Now kindly fuck off and go bother someone else, KTHXBYE.

It's quite astounding as to how Iris can keep trying to argue his points which he himself has contridicted. If you're anything more than a child with a daddy or mommy at Cisco, then I would be greatly surprised, because you're not showing an ounce of adult intellect.

Not only that, you're trying to argue issues... That you know nothing about! My God, the idiocy is enough to knock one off their feet. Tell you what, if you want to keep up this little crusade you've got going here (for the love of God, please do, your replies have me rolling) then by all means, keep fighting for this cause which doesn't seem to exist; but, if you want to just say "I'm sorry, I made an error in my judgement", then I'll hold nothing against you, and I'm sure no one here will either.

As far as i'm concerned fl00d3d your the new guy in the community, you may have all your experience and what not, but just to walk in to a community that already has a structure and a way of doing things and start ordering them around demanding source code and what ever you want, because you see yourself as a superior, is certainly not the way to do things.

The current rengaurd team can complete this task without you (easily) so live with it. also congratulations on single handedly turning the rengaurd forums in to an unoffical flaming forum

To fl00d3d, if you are so experienced...in programming/hacking/cracking what the hell do you need the source code for???

You are still to prove that you can crack/hack whatever I said can't be (note you didn't say it must be concerned with gaming) cracked/hacked, refer to post http://www.renegadeforums.com/viewtopic.php?t=7085&start=75

To all peeps out there Smile, here is a group of people who cares and is trying to make Renegade better for the majority of people who play online. Whether you prefer to trust them, keep things as they are and play on servers without RenGuard (with cheaters) or don't play at all, at the end of the day is upto you. Thats the choice that you are going to have to make.

To the RenGuard team, I think what you are doing is great, keep up the good work and I'm sure 95-99% of the people who play renegade on-line will enjoy the cheat-free gameplay.

Cheers,
D.

I'm --><-- this close to just deleteing all these stupid posts and threads insulting the renguard team and questioning our ethics. This forum is supposed to be a source of information and ask questions (real questions) and instead its turning into "lets see what BS fl00ded and iris have come up with today". Of course the moment I do, they will post again saying we are trying to hide something

Every file I have seen Ty and friends advertise illegally via relay bots on WOL were trojans. I have no reason to believe that anything he distributes is legit.

Viva la Resistance!
Arrrrrggh.

Guys. I keep posting over and over again about how this is stupid to argue. The point that you keep dragging this on after I've stopped arguing proves a lot. Just give it up. It's pointless.

We could all probably go back and forth for ages trying to defend our points of view (then again this is a forum). But the point is ... we're all here (hopefully) to secure the future of Renegade. So rather than bicker, lets work together and support these guys so it gets done and us l33t can start owning again.

In case you haven't heard, I've made truce with Crimson and we're both attempting to have a respectable relationship.

For the record, i checked Final-Renegade and i couldnt find 1 single trace of a botnet script, or trojan inside it

Yet when people say they HAVE found it has a trojan, no-one has shown me logs.
