Realy, all I can do is shake my head at this...

I have learnt much since the release of my map, and I would be putting alot of work into this project, but unfortunatly my Gmax/RenX is on the frits. Yes, I know there is a fix for this, but I don't want to download a untested patch onto my already fragile computer.

Do not be discouraged by some twerp who flames you and other mappers and modders. I am a player not a mapper and I and MANY others really appreciate all the long hours of effort that you all put in. If someone is so mean hearted that he has to flame those just starting out it does not say much for him.
Everyone in every field has to start from scratch. The decent types will help nOObs just learning their trade - whatever that trade may be. You will see MANY MORE expressions of support throughout our community than flamers.

I'm going to add functionality to my site to support coordinated efforts on moding, skinning, anti-cheating, and anything else that TEAMS of people should be working together PEACEFULLY to do.
I agree with ACK that there are a lot of people out there looking out for fame, not the game.
Case9 is undoubtedly working on some good things, I've personally talked to a few of them more than once about their support for anti-cheats as well. They have a good thing going.
The RenGuard team has some good work in progress with anti-cheats as well.
There are also a lot of very good modders, skinners, etc out there that work alone --- who would make a WONDERFUL contribution to a team with a similiar goal.
Hopefully my project will continue to grow and coordinate all these efforts. But as ACK has said and I support ----
It needs to be for the game. Not for fame.
Tsunami Alliance is all about doing good things for Renegade and its loyal community of players. Not making a face for itself.
As an C&C loyalist since 1994 and a die-hard Renegade addict that has seen his share of elite warfare ... I've pretty much GIVEN UP my gameplay time so I can help revive the game and fix these problems.
But I need support from everyone. I cannot do this alone.
If you truely want to help the game of Renegade survive. Contact me.
And if there is ever a HOPE of seeing a Renegade 2, let's show EA that the Renegade community means business. Petitions and emails won't do it. Pouring your heart and soul into creatively enhancing the game will.

This is so fucking pissing me off.
Hint: ITS A FUCKING ALIEN! And i cant be sued from the create of it cauz he is DEAD!! He was some US Artist who made it, not ALIENS, I cant be sued for ANYTHING. You can try and get me sued if u want. But who the fuck would sue me for making a model.
Some guy said the alien would look weird on 2 legs. - Its an alien, do u have any fucking clue what an alien is supposed to look like?! Aliens are WEIRD THINGS (so i think) so making them WEIRD is normal.
All shut up about "sueing" i cant be sued from anyone at all. I made the model, the original maker of it is deadl, the makers of Alien cant sue me because... oh.. they diddnt make that design. I cant be sued for it. Oh, and im 13, try and sue me for jack shit.
ACK, i hope you realise you have made alot of enemys, like anyone who views this thread with start flaming you. So i would stop now b4 you reputation really gets fucked.

Once again, you're an idiot. It doesn't matter if he's dead or alive. Whoever owns the copyrights to the Alien series of movie will have the authority to send you a cease-and-desist notice. Failure to comply will end up in a lawsuit.
You don't have to be doing it for profit. It doesn't matter. They can lose their copyright if they don't actively enforce it.
It doesn't matter how old you are. That's nothing but a total cop-out. The law is set, either follow it or you face the consequences.

Ditto, ACKs maps are good.
In his last post he IS right you cant use copyright stuff or stuff that looks like copyright stuff and sometimes stuff that even thinks it looks like copyright stuff. These guys have deeeep pockets and fight to protect their brand recognition.

They are known more as levels for single player and maps for multiplayer... And i wouldnt call me "some 13 year old" you dont have a clue what i do... All you do is sit on ur fat ass and make maps, sure they are good!
The subject has totally changed... i cant get sued... And no one owns that alien design.
It has been used thosands of times, and happened to be in a popular movie, doesnt mean i can get sued. Think of it like this:
I go to court because i made a 3d model of an alien WITH FUCKING FAT HEAD....
The makers of Alien have to come to England to see me....
I wont get sued for making the model cauz ITS A FUCKING HEAD!

20th Century Fox owns the rights to the "Alien" series. That includes the soundtrack, the character names, and yes even the Alien designs.

Thousands of times? Really? Please show us where it has been used even once! And it's not just the head, it's the entire body. The only major difference is that yours is standing straight up, while the movie creations are seen hunched over when standing erect. Search the web, you'l find all sorts of pictures of the movie that support what I say.

Can't comment on whether or not the original creator was German, but if 20th Century Fox had mad the movie without the concent of the current owner of the design rights, some people would be VERY rich right now. You see, there is this thing called a copyright. And even if the person is dead, the copywright can still exist for another 75 (not sure on the exact number of years) after the persons death, unless the title is transferred (which is usually the case). In either case, if the copyright had been owned by someone else at the time of the movies production, a lawyer would have sued on behalf of the owner (had he been dead at the time and not transferred ownership). However, if the copyright had expired, then Fox could have simply taken up the rights when they made the movie. However seeing as there was no lawsuit (as another 4 movies were made) it's fair enough to say that if the Alien design wasn't originally created for Fox, that they obtained the rights to use them.
