Bringing up, and then insulting Jarhead's service, and Crimson's legal/business dealings have nothing at all to do with the issues at hand. It's unfair, and unnecessary. Honestly MUDKIPS, that kind of shit is what drove people to leave NS, and made them stay. Don't lower yourself to it.

Making fun of someone's service to their country is the attitude of a coward. I know people in my country's armed forces who are twenty-four karat gold, possessing an ingenuity, and intellect beyond many others' and have amounted to more in life than those who criticize them.

That being said, Jarhead's conduct towards people has been documented over the past couple years. Some of his bans are questionable at best, downright impudent at worst.

Many issues that have popped up in this thread, and others would have been resolved ages ago if NS' administration had just exercised some firm decision-making.

"Posting on behalf of banned users will be considered as bypassing a ban. For doing this, you will be issued a single warning and topic removal. If you do it again, you will be banned for the same duration as the person you posted for."

"These Rules of Conduct have been agreed upon by the administration, and are subject to change at any time. Any changes made or required due to an unanticipated action by a forum member may be acted upon immediately and without warning at the discretion of the Administration."

Learn to read you dumb bitch, I'll point it out for you:

1. You need to change the rules of conduct first. Which you haven't done.
2. Changes that have to be made because of UNANTICIPATED actions can be in effect immediately. Only those.
3. Positng on behalf of a banned user earns you a warning at first, which didn't happen yet.

I'm still considering the appropriate phrasing for the rule clarification. But I'm not going to hold off the ban while there's more important things to worry about. Don't tell ME how to interpret my own rules.

In addition, "killgeak" who started this thread technically posted on behalf of a banned user, but since he doesn't have the seniority (and therefore should know better) as Dave and the post wasn't inflammatory and abusive, I was lenient on him.

iRANian wrote on Sun, 13 November 2011 16:18

Considering you don't seem to care a fuck about randomly banning people Spoony-style, why have the rules of conduct in the first place?

I'm not sure what the Spoony reference is for, but the ban wasn't random.

iRANian wrote on Sun, 13 November 2011 16:18

Also it's pretty sad you're denying hacking Exodus and stealing Devitto's S2 forum nick or whatever it was.

I didn't hack Exodus... lol. I remember being accused of it before but I don't remember what it was all about. And stealing an S2 forum nick? This again implies I know how to hack passwords? If only I were that good at "hacking". I'm much better at defending from attacks/floods/exploits since that happens to me a lot.

iRANian wrote on Sun, 13 November 2011 16:18

I still haven't seen any evidence of MUDKIPS UDP flooding n00bstories server, but please show me the packet logs.

There won't be any evidence of something that no one claimed happened. He flooded the server by joining dozens of times over and over. He admitted to this in the thread that you are apparently not reading.

I'm the bawss.

Wow, are you mentally retarded? I'm certain that you're troop on a smurf name. You need to learn to read the full topic not Crimson.

@mudkipz like yourself I worked alongside jarhead, but unlike you I didn't purposely piss him off like you. Only NS staff can really state what hes actually like tbh, everyone else is jus guessing.

Move on mudkipz, its for the best. Try an grow up a bit though for your own sake.

Serious question (I have been out of the loop for a while) but are you the cheating mod at NS that got found out who then immediately disappeared for months and have since had the audacity to return?

Perhaps its because i'm not retarded, but could also be the fact I'm not a terrible moderator. zzz

Fair enough. So, tell me: Are you one of the people who feels that Jarhead should stop being heavy-handed in the server? If so, do you intend on supporting the server he moderates, so that your voice holds weight? Do you play there? Do you pay to maintain it? Do you play without paying to help maintain it?

I'm not quite sure why you care about him. If you want him to stop being heavy-handed, but you don't support the server (or the people who run it), why should anyone care about what you think?

If you play there, but your only contribution is to come bash Jarhead, why should anyone care about what you think?

If you pay to maintain the server, I'd imagine some people would take your complaints seriously.

Even if none of the above matters or applies, I'm still fascinated that MUDKIPS can say "It's a fucking game" and complain about Jarhead, while simultaneously being just as much of an asshole about said game. I getting a fundamental disconnect here. Why does any of this matter? None of you are forced to play on NS. Most of you complaining have made it clear that you don't play there, or that you won't go back.

This sounds like the bitching that was posted on this forum for years, regarding the FUD Clan and their FUD Online server. What difference does it really make?

If only I were that good at "hacking". I'm much better at defending from attacks/floods/exploits since that happens to me a lot.

After having read this thread for a while, I think now is the appropriate time for me to hop in. I have been the one who discovered the hack back in the day and I know of at least luv2pb's IP (Confirmed using the IPDB) being ALL OVER the Apache access logs logged in as Ethenal, there were multiple other IP's that we couldn't trace back, but I am fairly certain it was confirmed to me by one of your forum moderators that those IP's were also used to access your account on these very forums. I wish I could back this up with logs, but seeing as how A) I don't have access to the Exodus Administrative Sections anymore, where I have shared the proof I've gathered back in the day and B) I am on a new laptop and I don't have my IRC logs on here, I dont think I have anything to share on here.

The fact that you are denying this very thing is very, very sad.

Also.. implying how to hack passwords? Seeing as how the FUDForums show every failed login attempt in the logs with the failed password being shown to the administrator staff.. a single typo could give the password away. I don't know how FUD stores the passwords in the database, if it's plain text (which wouldn't surprise me) there is no need to even hack it as you can just.. read it, and simple md5 encryption has been unsecure for a while.

My honest opinion about this case: You just banned him because you don't want him near you or your servers (that you pay for), it isn't any proactive handling or some shit because he'd take his appearant flooding or other shit towards these forums. Everyone can actually see that. Searching for a rule that wields you enough power in your own so called 'Rules of Conduct' because the original rule doesn't just give you a valid reason to ban Dave is also very, very low.

Every so often, I get this positive feeling that humanity can somehow, possibly attain pure awesomeness, and enlightenment, and that there is light at the end of the road for us all. However, I only need to go to the latest HUD thread at RenForums to remind me of how dumb I was for thinking such stupid things.

why bother trying to defend your claims, when everyone else knows you to be lying......the ip's are pretty obvious lol.

the only person who doesnt think jarhead is as ass is azazel.....i dont even have to make any more of a point than that

idc how you want to run your server, thats up to you. But whats the point of defending or denying the obvious
