Combat Arms and Crossfire are downright awful, cheat filled, and use "hurrdurr rent your weapons for 30 days for more ingame money than you can earn in those 30 days" bullshit.
There's really nothing good when it comes to decent competitive FPS's anymore. Thank console FPS's for this.

I haven't played TF2 in awhile, but from what I can see a lot of it's just whiney bitching about BAWW HATS BAW and other minor stupid things. Just don't buy the goddamn hats, and if you're any good you can easily fuck over anyone with some trivial stat boost.

There's a few neat third person action/shooting games out there. S4 League was nice, but goddamn the lag and hacking was out of hand last time I played.

ya, TF2 is still my favorite modern fps and certainly the best free one. QL would be killer with CPMA support, but i can't stand playing quake without instant weaponswitch. warsaw isn't as fleshed out and mostly an instagib game. enemy territory is probably still full of slavs, cheaters and shitty server mods.
