I downloaded the .exe from the website that was linked from here.

The installer won't let me change the path from c:/westwood/renegade...

Nor will it allow me to even install it to that directory so I could copy pasta it to the right one.

Basically it just won't let me install.

I am using TFD btw.

Edit: Is there anyway someone who has the files could send them to me?

That's because it is silly enough to always add \renegade to the directory you specified. Point the installer to the correct dir and then manually remove the \renegade. That should fix the problem.

Nope, the browse option does nothing for me. When I clock on the files it doesn't move them over as the path. I copied and pasted the path and it only had "Renegade" once. The option buttons never highlight or become available to move on.

Sorry for the double post and bump... but is there any way someone could send me the files so I don't have to mess with the installer...

Since TT changes registry keys and shit, it doesn't work like that, unfortunately.

So does anyone have any ideas why the installer won't work?

Like I said the browse function does not change the file path, and the "next" button never becomes available?

I am not a tech person, so would there be something on my pc preventing this?

I think it happens because the installer is broken. The best way you can work around this problem is to move your renegade folder to the location in which is expects Renegade to be, and move it back after installing TT. If you cannot login to XWIS afterwards, you may need to run v00d00's serial changer. We will fix the bug for the next release.

Even if I leave the path as the default for the installer it never lets me hit the next button to proceed.

Because it expects renegade files to be there. Seye is suggesting that you move (and rename) the renegade directory to c:\westwood\renegade, and try installing then.

The next button will only light up if it can find data\always.dat underneath the folder you pick as the install folder.
