I prefer ST over SW but they are both complete different sci-fi genres. However, since lucas turned sw into a kids adventure (target audience 12yo +/-) when releasing episode 1-3 its a clear case

Star Wars USED to be pretty cool, though, despite it being pretty showy. Nowadays, it sucks balls :[. It's like watching Naruto or Bleadh- you have to wait 100 fucking episodes for anything to happen, and the rest is retarded bullshit no one cares about.

Star Wars is not science-fiction. It's considered to be science-fantasy. Star Trek is focused on established and yet-to-be discovered physics, Star Wars is about "the force" and other random mythological forces that make it a fantasy title and not a science-fiction title.

The two are barely comparable. The only thing they have in common is that they are primarily set in space.

I'm not sure where you're getting the "better established universe" from. Star Trek's story has been very consistent and developed for many years.

I think he means that the Star Wars universe has many individual stories that take place over thousands and thousands of years. There's literally millenniums of individual story lines for hundreds of individual characters.

That's how I would interpret it. It's better established since it's fiction is cemented in due the thousands of years worth of material.

You're ignoring the rest of his statement. He said that he believes that Star Wars is better able to be expanded upon because "most people can usually agree on what is canon", not because it has some sort of story background.
