Wireless routers provided by ISPs tend to be cheap crap, your better off buying a good quality one of your own.

Some possible solutions for a dodgy wireless signal (short of buying a better quality wireless router) are;

1) Switch to a wired connection - just because the router has wireless doesn't mean you have to use it

2) Adjust position of computer and router so they are closer together, ensure aerials on both are clear of obstructions and there is an absolute minimum of walls or metal objects between the two of them

3) Switch off microwaves and any other devices using the 2.4GHz spectrum, if possible set the router to G mode only (or N if the router and your PC support it).

i find that one has to do with the USB receiver (for lack of a better word) because 2 comps are beast on the internet and have better USB receivers and are further away but the one im using now has constant DNS errors and such shorter distance and much cheaper than the others
