I got a 50mW one from DealExtreme.
Actually pointed it at my eyes for the heck of it. It's like watching too long in the sun but then in one/two seconds. Afterwards You'll get those black spots on your vision from it (temporary burning on the Retina afaik). Had those spots for half an hour or so

Why would you point it at your eye?! You probably have permanent damage now.
You may not notice it, but you might have some blind spots in your eye.
Your brain takes what your eyes see in surround areas and applies it to the spot your blind in. It doesn't seem at first glance that you've lost vision... but there will come a time when you look directly at something and simply wont be able to see it.
