Whenever I go to install with TFD, it gets about halfway whenever installing the always.dat, but it gets to an error. The error says:
The request could not be performed because of an I/O.
I am running windows 7. Not sure what the problem may be.

My laptop doesn't like iso's for some reason. Everytime I tried to install it from an iso, it wouldn't work. That's the reason why I ended up getting TFD. I have installed it already; I just had to uninstall it last night, tried to reinstall and I kept getting that error.

What virtual drive software are you using? I use Daemon Tools Lite, it never failed me on all the PCs i've installed it on (includes a discless netbook). If you're planning to install it, make sure you to uncheck the toolbars it wants to install during installation.
I've also heard great stuff about Virtual CloneDrive.

I used two different ones; Daemon Tools and Poweriso. Both didn't work.
I've been told be someone that reformatting your PC/laptop would work. Seems a little much just to get Ren installed, but I have been meaning to do it, eventually. Might just do it tonight and see if it fixes the problem.
(Though, I still would like to know what the exact problem could be to this)

This could be hardware failing our a bad cable. If its the hard drive it could just need a good format not quick but a full format.
You should be having several problems with your computer if that's the case and sounds like you are.

If that's the case, then these problems have been going on for several months now. The confusing thing is, I have installed with TFD (twice in fact) without problems. This was after I have had problems with any virtual mounting software.
Well, now that I got my answer, I'll try a reformat of my laptop and see if that fixes the problem.
