use private torrent trackers...dude. Hell even demonoid is better than usenet and its pretty much a public tracker most of the time

Most private torrent trackers require you to seed up to a specific ratio, else your account will be deleted. Also, you rely completely on the amount of seeders, while with usenet you download straight from the newsservers (always at maximum speed).

So no, private torrent trackers are not better than usenet.

You could also spend your money on games instead of usenet...

I'll stick with usenet, it's cheaper. Besides that, I'm not going to spend any money on a game which I will probably not play anymore after completing the campaign.

It's not like you can actually play the multiplayer part of pirated games, so that's a pretty easy statement to make.

you know, I hate being the moralfag in situations like this, but goddamn you are the reason why game companies hate developing for the PC.

By the way, there's tons of legitimately free games- are you that much of an asshole that you feel you deserve other games for free?

I own a PS3 too and I do buy games for that. PS3 games are priced at 67 euros here and that's quite a lot. That's the main reason I don't buy PC games, because I'd rather spend it on a PS3 game for which I can unlock trophies, which kind of force me to play until I have them all.

So I do support game companies, but not with games like CoD, Crysis 2, Battlefield etc. Games like those are way too overpriced for what they actually give you in the end in my honest opinion.

Steam achievements.

They even where there before the PSN was there.

Phailstation 3...

Not to mention buying expensive games for the Phailstation while the same game on PC is around 40 euros or lower if you look carefully.

Ah, I see

So you choose to support a system that companies only prefer (hardly, they seem to prefer the 360, but PS3 is second) because the market for PC isn't as profitable... due to mass pirating. And then you proceed to pirate games for the PC.

Nice.

I wouldnt say they necessarily prefer the 360 as opposed to it makes more sense.

If games were made with what the playstation 3 could handle in mind then games would be much better. But the xbox360 couldnt handle the same which would result in needing to develop separately for both platforms. Whereas if they develop for the 360 then port to the ps3 it probably saves them a shitload of cash and people dont realise what they could be missing out on.

Im not trying to start an argument so xbox360 fanboys please leave it out lol.

I didn't say WHY they prefered the 360, but that's actually mostly why, yes. It wasn't meant to be a point, just sort of stating a fact. However, PS3 is still a developer's second choice.

PC is barely in the developer's mind anymore. Often, PC games have console-to-PC ports... and it's terrible.

Everyone's ranting about PC games being pirated, but what about the 360? It got hacked two weeks after its release and many many people have downloaded games ever since.

The problem with PC games is that every year or two years you have to spend a fair amount of money to upgrade your hardware so that you can run the newest games. However consoles don't need hardware upgrades to run the games released for them and therefore a lot of people prefer console over pc nowadays.

And pirating doesn't change one bit to it.

I really doubt it that you are never upgrading your console.
I remember that there where a few different versions of the PS2 and the avarage nintendo was usually good for just 3 years in terms of hardware.

Dont forget the reason why a PS3 where getting cheaper in the beginning. (Sony wasnt making profit on selling the machine itself BUT they where going to eventually on their games and dont forget buyable content!)

Oh and PC games tend to be backwards compatible.
All in all it's just a matter of preference if there is a difference it will be marginal.

The 360 still doesn't have near the pirate rates because of the difficulty it takes to do that. Yeah, people still do it, but not nearly as much. Even if they WERE pirated as much as PC's, that doesn't give you moral leverage to then pirate every new game for the PC.

HEY GUESS WHAT? If you're pirating the latest games for your PC, you have the latest hardware! Congrats! So that's yet another piss-poor argument. Besides, you can easily get a PC that costs around 600 dollars and it'll run the majority of games just fine.

Furthermore, you can do something most consoles can't- play older games! That's where the PS3 is disappointing, considering the PS2's backwards compatability.

TL;DR: You're a faggot, and you justify your faggotry with inane, unrelated bullshit.

There is only one type of consumer that is worse than a standard media pirate and that's the type of consumer that pays money to third parties in order to pirate data.

So, not only are you denying the developers the money they earned... you're actually giving that money away to someone completely unrelated!

If you're going to pay money, pay the people who deserve it!

Paying money to pirate stuff might have to be the most stupid, idiotic thing I've heard of so far this year.

Isn't true any more, because consoles. Since consoles haven't changed a bit in the last 5 years, games still have pretty much the same minimum requirements.
I got a secondary PC with a Athlon 64 x2 4800+, 2 GB ram and a HD4870 and can play pretty much everything on it. Perhaps not at the highest settings, but high enough none the less.

Bandwidth doesn't cost much here in NL. We don't have limits or anything so that's not the problem either.
Only reason not to upload shit is that downloading movies and music is legal. Downloading software (and thus games) is illegal though.
Then again, if you care about that, download from thepiratebay or any other public tracker and don't upload a thing. Easy enough I'd say.

Better watch out when dling pirated stuff. Your isp doesn't care what you download. But big Angy music company's/Hollywood do.
They are basically forcing isp's to share info about people that dl marked files. Then going after them in court.
