Any of you guys remember CnC Ammo? That was my FAVORITE Renegade site. They were no longer hosted by Planet CnC. They changed to a different website, and then they were gone. Whatever happened to them?

Planet C&C said that we were pretty much a copy of them but smaller. To them, C&C Ammo was a pretty pointless addition to their site, so one day they gave us about three days notice and then shut us down. The site owner at the time, Roguey, was already 21 and had begun to lose interest in maintaining the site (even though at that point he did nothing and let his staff do all the work) and decided to not help us in backing up the site.
The staff was unable to organize and save all the files that we were hosting on fileplanet. A remake of the site was attempted soon thereafter at cncammo.net and commandnconquer.com but without the content we had before, it too was eventually shut down. A small bit of recovered content was handed over to Assassin at cncsource.
The only staff that I kept in touch with for any amount of time was Stryker, who I believe is in Iraq right now.

Hmm... Interesting. I used to love that site. Was my favorite. Had the most mods, maps, and skins of any other site. It was updated daily, and you could submit your mods. I wish there was another site like it. And God Bless our Troops including Stryker!

hey,
sorry to bring back such an old thread, however I feel there is no point creating a new thread when this one is already existing.
I previously thought that I had lost ammo for good. However during a clean-up in my storage areas, I was lucky enough to find an old copy of the site on CD. I am able to host the site myself as run roguey.co.uk now.
So ammo is back (just took 6 years to find the CD, Doh!)! I am trying to contact all the old staff however some of details must be very old. Mats0174 email account no long exists, does anyone know his contact details? I know you guys probably moved onto new things but it would great to hear from you again.
On the backup CD was all the code, database, pictures and a few skins and boinks. There were no Renegade/Generals maps, I dont suppose anyone has them?
The site has gone under major re-works, and can be found here:

Thanks for bringing it back, though the design looks different now or my memories have faded....

oh, that's not good - it was you? j/k well, ammo didnt go down, planetcnc pulled hosting on ammo. Im now in a position to host it myself - something I couldnt do then.
The site is different than before. I originally brought it back for respect, however its changed into a working site now. Much of the code in the new ammo is a lot more advanced, although it should be easier. Take the sign-in system, its totally written by me. The old Ammo used the forum for that.
Its good to know people still remmeber the site - hopefully for good reasons. What name did you go by then?
