http://ksimonian.com/Blog/2010/02/24/improved-photoshop-benchmark-cpu-speed-test -for-both-mac-pc-free-radial-blur-filter-test/ <-- Except Photoshop is faster on Windows. Kinda funny when you think about it; it takes OS-X quite a bit more hardware in order to match the speeds of it running on Windows 7.

is that the only reason photoshop people prefer macs? i really wouldn't know as I got a macbook for completely unrelated reasons, personally don't care about platform debates and only joked around in this thread.
but if graphical artists don't need macs anymore, there are still the recording studios and film studios that rely on osx pretty much exclusively.

Thank you I will go ask them tommorow, but its community college so I doute it

Don't doubt it. My school had MSDNAA when it was a community college (it is now a state college). It was still a CC when I got this copy of Windows. Big Ups

I'd rather pay $200 once rather than $100 each time I replace some hardware. If Windows 7 turns out anything like XP, chances are I'll upgrade at least once, so why not buy retail? You're taking a real gamble with OEM copies.

The road I cruise is a bitch now, baby.

Windows 7 OEM is tied to the motherboard. So it's fine with any other upgrades. I've gone through two motherboards, two CPU's, and several graphics cards, and not a fuss was made.

When I RMA'd my motherboard, and got an exact replacement, all Windows did was ask for online re-activation, which took all of twenty seconds.

However, it seems that MS' people are pretty reasonable, and if you phone them up, they'll give you a new code in case you get a different motherboard. Just say it broke.

Why? OEM copies accept upgrades just as easy. Had to replace my GA-EX58-UD5 MB with a GA-X58A-UD5 MB and didn't have any issues. Same with XP OEM and HW upgrades.

I was under the impression that you could absolutely had to buy a new license if you changed motherboards.

Most be a good book store, everything at mines is way over priced, but hey, that's California.

I got 7 Professional 64-bit OEM for free via MSDNAA. You should be able to contact your school's computer science department head or one of the instructors for a form you can fill out to get into the MSDNAA.

I owe you a huge thank you, I finally got hold of the guy in charge of the MSDNAA at my school (at two other computer professors said we did not have it) and got two copies of windows 7 one for me and one for my mom

thank you =]
