Just means that if your motherboard breaks for example then for windows to continue to work you need to replace it with the same model of motherboard.



Just need to reactivate windows, or do a reinstall wiht a different type of MB. If you've used up your activations (I think you can activate about once every 3 months), you can just call to MS and they'll give you a code which will let you reactivate. They'll ask if you have Windows installed on more than one computer (of course not) and you tell them that your MB broke so you put in a new one. They'll see the problem, ask you for the telephonic activation code generated by your computer and then they'll give you the code you can use to activate your Windows.


Well yeah you can do that but I found it easier just to get the same motherboard when my motherboard broke on me lol.
