Back when the Renegade Tutorials was active, there were two awesome tutorials, I believe they were called "Advanced Modeling" parts 1 and 2. I cannot find them again, even on the new tutorial hosters.

The first part was explaining making terrain and mounds, the second showed making a tunnel.

Anyone know where I can find them? I'm starting to get into the modeling mood again.

There are three possible sites to find tutorials from different periods of time that renhelp.net was hosted by different people. These are the three I know of, just for reference:

http://renegadehelp.net
http://www.pokemonca.net
http://renhelp.laeubi-soft.de

Reading your post, the best answer that came to my mind was a tutorial I watched a few months ago, which I do find pretty helpful in showing how to make terrain in RenX:

Advanced RenX Map for Beginners Video by Recon (hosted on http://renegadehelp.net)

Doing a lighter search around the three websites posted above, here are some tutorials that might be relevant to what your asking about:

RenX Boolean Tool by Captkurt (hosted on http://www.pokemonca.net)

Mesh Smoothing by Genocide (hosted on http://renhelp.laeubi-soft.de)

Make tunnels (use boolean) by Läubi (hosted on http://renhelp.laeubi-soft.de)

Wish I could offer more help.

The second one (PokemonCA) has it... unfortunately, the whole tutorial was images, and they were apparently not saved because they don't display properly.

At least I have a name now: Renx Advanced Mesh Tutorial.

Thanks for the assistance so far, looks like I need to keep looking.

I guess i somehow got rid of those photos i uploaded, i just spend the last hour looking through 100 pages of photos in my photobucket accounts and cannot find any of those tutorials. I will though make new ones soon, maybe in form of video since pics are sometimes hard to explain things with.

Actually all the images in there are still up, the links are just bad. If you edit the url's you can get the images to display. You need to replace "http://www.renhelp.net" to "http://www.pokemonca.net/rh"
I've done that for you. Enjoy!
Note: it will work if you're connected to the internet Razz

Thanks a bunch!

I'll just do the same with the second one, then save both to my HD so I won't lose it again In Love

EDIT: Worked, I have both saved now!

They're not his. He just changed the image source links so they would load properly.

I personally prefer a static tutorial rather than a video, but if you covered the same material then it should be added for sure. I am not very skilled at RenX (still not, lol) but the picture tuts taught me a lot, and the videos can do the same for those who work best with vids.

So thanks for making them Thumbs Up

Finished watching both videos, pretty nice stuff for someone watching that might still new to RenX and all the tools. The quality of the video was a bit tough to follow, even if I maximized the window and set the quality to 480, I had to squint at some times when you were talking about a tool, or when you were clicking your mouse on something (You clicked on tools really fast sometimes). But I got the feeling if I watch the video maybe 3-4 more times carefully I'll understand what's going on.

Useful to see how things are done by 'experienced' people. You said in the video you might make a tutorial on how to make the 'undo' function go to unlimited, would be a nice thing to know.

Sweet stuff. Kudos for making it.
