I bought a Logitech X-540
and have this motherboard
http://www.asrock.com/mb/overview.asp?Model=890FX Deluxe3
some reason, with default sound driver/codec
central speaker wont work, with the driver that came with mobo has only speaker settings for 2, 4, 6, 8 does not say 5.1 speaker setup
so i can get sub to work but central wont, OR cantral to work, but not sub, (both include rest of speakers working fine) is there anyway to fix this?
or do i have to buy a sound card...
please and thank you

1. Make sure on your 540 the matrix setting isn't on, that's the right button
2. Select 6CH, 6CH is 5.1, the .1 means the sub
3. Select the appropriate settings in the realtek manager.

1. Its not, iv tried with and without it
2.i dont have realtek, my pc has a VT2020 Audio Codec which works with something called envy HD manager or something like that, does not really show a man, and i tried with realtek but some reason, it never has a manager included with it, and way less settings

Not sure what that is, google forums for that type of hardware/drivers because it sounds old/rare.

well my motherboard is brand new, I jsut got this RMA that has been tested (including sound) , but its new, and when I mean new I mean this one came out recently from what I read, its not like its a 5 year old mobo, i emailed my mobo company, they said should work, they said they have same speaker set on theres, anyways then I called logitech and said the sam thing, sub, should place when I click to test, but he could not figure out why either, I may have to buy a sound card and I already dont have much room down near my pci slots anyways, here a ss that can maybe show you guys what O am working with
http://img689.imageshack.us/i/testpr.png/
I edited it to show you more details, heres what they mean
-circled yellow: i circled everything yellow i can click on to test the sub, when I click on them nothing happens
-circled red: it says enable to enhance sound quailty of your bass, but when its turned on sub barly has any air coming out and no sound, and central speaker does not work
-circled blue: swaps speaker used for sub/central, the way it is now works, if i turn it off, central and sub do not work
-circled pink: three connections plugged in

What's your mobo model? I'll google it and see what I find. I haven't seen any motherboards using anything but Realtek, so maybe this is some sort of software overlay for it.

I don't really know why it's not working. I'd just try playing around with it some more, or checking out some VIA forums or something. I've never seen or used VIA onboard sound.
